Under Decision No. 699/QD-UBND, Điện Biên province has approved the selection of an investor for the Northwest new urban area, resort tourism, and sports services project located in Điện Biên Phủ ward and Thanh Nưa commune. The project will be implemented by Green City Development Joint Stock Company - owner of Vinhomes under VinGroup - with a total estimated investment of up to VND 23.66 trillion.

Covering more than 228.5 hectares and expected to accommodate around 12,000 residents, the project aims to develop a modern, integrated urban area featuring housing, commercial services, healthcare, education, and green spaces.

Notably, an 18-hole international standard golf course spanning nearly 86.9 hectares is expected to become a highlight, attracting high end tourism and enhancing Điện Biên’s position on the Northwest region’s resort map. The project is currently in the site preparation phase and is expected to break ground during the 2026 Điện Biên Investment Promotion Conference.

Investment attraction efforts in Điện Biên have also seen active participation from small and medium sized enterprises, contributing to a more diversified investment ecosystem.

Built on an area of over 4,000 square meters with a total investment exceeding VND 40 billion, Hoa Ba Tuần Giáo Supermarket officially came into operation in January 2026. With three modern floors, each covering nearly 1,300 square meters, it has quickly become a convenient and modern shopping destination for local residents.

Nguyễn Chí Ba, General Director of Hoa Ba Education and Trading Services Co., Ltd., shared that strong support from local authorities and the provincial People’s Committee was key to the project’s timely completion.

After more than 11 months of intensive construction, the supermarket is now operational with tens of thousands of products meeting essential consumer needs. In addition to business activities, it creates stable jobs for local workers and serves as a distribution point for agricultural products, helping increase farmers’ incomes and promote production.

The new urban area and airport walking street project at Mường Thanh, invested by Đức Hải Điện Biên Co., Ltd., is another clear example of the province’s investment appeal. Launched in September 2025, the project covers nearly 7.6 hectares with a total investment of nearly VND 700 billion. It boasts a prime location near Điện Biên Phủ Airport and major historical sites. Oriented as the province’s first digital urban area, the project harmoniously combines modern living spaces with green elements, contributing to improved urban quality.

Nguyễn Văn Đức, Director of Đức Hải Điện Biên Co., Ltd., affirmed that the project plays an important role in urban renewal and improving living standards. The company is committed to mobilizing maximum resources to ensure progress and quality.

He emphasized that open policies and strong support from provincial authorities have built significant confidence for businesses investing in the locality. This demonstrates that Điện Biên offers a transparent, friendly, and highly potential investment environment.
