The 2026 Investment Promotion Conference contributes to concretizing resolutions on improving the investment environment and promoting private sector development for the 2026-2030 period. With a scale of approximately 1,200 delegates, the event is an opportunity for the province to promote the image of a Điện Biên rich in historical tradition, imbued with cultural identity, and full of tourism potential while affirming a transparent, safe, and friendly investment environment.

Through this, the province seeks to expand cooperation opportunities across key sectors including tourism, services, resorts, agriculture, processing, urban infrastructure, real estate, energy, industry, and logistics. Surrounding the conference is a series of major events such as field surveys of projects, groundbreaking ceremonies, tourism photo exhibitions, OCOP product displays, and investment potential video screenings.

A highlight within the conference framework is the 2026 Vietnam Private Economic Forum, organized by the Provincial People’s Committee in coordination with the Central Committee of the Vietnam Young Entrepreneurs Association under the theme “Vietnam’s Private Economy: Institutional Breakthroughs - Public-Private Partnership - Conquering the Era of Reaching Out.” This forum aims to create an open dialogue space between the government and the business community, offering solutions for private economic development, promoting investment links, and spreading the Điện Biên Phủ spirit of the past as a mandate for modern development.

Currently, preparations for the conference are being carried out urgently and seriously by departments, sectors, and localities, ranging from program content and project lists to infrastructure, urban renovation, and security. Provincial leaders have requested that all organizing units focus on reviewing specific tasks to ensure a professional and successful conference that leaves a lasting impression on domestic and foreign investors. To ensure synchronous and effective implementation, the organizing committee has established three sub-committees, including the Content Sub-committee led by the Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, alongside the Reception-Logistics and Dissemination-Ceremony Sub-committees led by the Vice Chairmen.

In addition to finalizing the program, relevant units are coordinating to prepare for the awarding of Investment Policy Approval Decisions to 10 investors and the honoring of 15 businesses and investors for their contributions to socio-economic development and social security in the province. Simultaneously, preparations for the groundbreaking of two key projects are being accelerated, with the Cable Car Complex and Điện Biên Phủ Historical Cultural Tourism Project in Mường Phăng commune scheduled for May 10 and the Northwestern New Urban Area for Resort and Sports Services in Điện Biên Phủ ward scheduled for May 11.

To facilitate field surveys, the organizing committee issued Plan No.3179/KH-BTC on April 23, 2026, establishing three survey groups led by the Department of Construction, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and the Department of Agriculture and Environment. These groups will introduce investors to sites related to urban infrastructure, industry, logistics, tourism, and agriculture using detailed maps and planning documents prepared by specialized agencies. Investment promotion publications are also being meticulously finalized, including bilingual versions of the “List of Priority Projects for Investment Call” and “Điện Biên - Potential and Investment Opportunities,” which provide overviews of the province, key indicators, infrastructure, and the government’s commitment to accompanying investors.

The Dissemination Sub-committee is coordinating closely with media agencies to ensure widespread coverage, including a live broadcast of the conference on May 11, 2026. Design elements such as banners and backdrops are being completed to ensure a modern and solemn atmosphere. Furthermore, displays of typical agricultural and OCOP products such as coffee, macadamia, Tủa Chùa tea, rice, textiles, winter melon, star apple, and pineapple, alongside a photo exhibition of socio-economic achievements, are being meticulously prepared. With a high sense of responsibility, Điện Biên province is focusing all efforts to ensure the success of this major event, affirming its position as an attractive, safe, and friendly destination on the national investment map.
