Nearly a month ago, Điện Biên province organized an Investment Promotion Conference under the theme “Điện Biên - A Strategic Destination for Investment,” attracting more than 1,200 delegates. The conference witnessed the presence of diplomatic representatives from various countries such as Thailand, France, China, Japan, the Republic of Korea, and Laos, along with local leaders, business associations, and many major corporations. This demonstrates the growing appeal of Điện Biên in the eyes of the business community.

Moving beyond a single event, the province has synchronously deployed numerous in-depth investment promotion activities. Three field survey delegations were organized across different sectors: urban infrastructure - industrial clusters - logistics; tourism - services - resorts; and agriculture - animal husbandry - processing. Through these, investors gained direct access to the province’s potential, planning, and development orientations. Concurrently, the Vietnam Private Economic Forum 2026, groundbreaking ceremonies for key projects, and an exhibition of OCOP products took place, contributing to a comprehensive promotion of the local image.

At the conference, provincial leaders delivered a clear message: Điện Biên welcomes investors who arrive with a strategic vision, a sense of responsibility, and a long-term commitment to jointly create new values, share benefits, and achieve harmonious development. This remains a consistent orientation to ensure investment efficiency and prevent the waste of resources and development opportunities.

The outcomes achieved at the conference serve as concrete evidence. The province granted 12 decisions approving investment policies and investment registration certificates to 11 investors with a total capital of over VND 48,320 billion, including 3 FDI projects worth over VND 14,000 billion. Concurrently, 22 memoranda of understanding for investment cooperation with a total committed capital of over VND 209,370 billion were signed with various major corporations, establishing an important foundation for Điện Biên to build growth momentum in the coming period.

One of the most prominent highlights of Điện Biên is its fierce determination for administrative reform. The province has implemented the “Green Lane” mechanism for non-budgetary priority projects, committing to slash up to 70% of the time required to resolve administrative procedures. The principles of publicity, transparency, and accountability are placed at the forefront, contributing to cost reduction and bolstering business confidence. The province also explicitly affirmed that it will not tolerate situations where there is “smoothness at the top but blockages at the bottom” or “rolling out the red carpet at the top while scattering nails underneath”.

In parallel, Điện Biên is proactively perfecting its master plans, preparing land funds, and developing human resources to meet project requirements. Advanced sectors for investment attraction include tourism, urban development, high-tech agriculture, processing industries, energy, and logistics - industries with ample room for growth that align with the local practical conditions.

The province consistently emphasizes sustainable development, linking economic growth with environmental protection, the preservation of cultural identity, and the guarantee of national defense and security in border areas. This is a crucial factor in creating long-term appeal for responsible investors.

The Investment Promotion Conference is not merely an economic event but also carries strategic significance, contributing to the realization of goals set under the Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress and the Resolution of the 15th provincial Party Congress. Armed with high determination and synchronized solutions, Điện Biên is aiming for a double-digit economic growth rate in the 2026 - 2030 period.

From a mountainous province facing numerous difficulties, Điện Biên is transforming powerfully into an attractive, friendly, and safe destination for investors. A transparent investment environment, an accompanying government, and a vision of sustainable development serve as the foundation for Điện Biên to make a major breakthrough in the future.
