In just the first six months of 2026, the unit exceeded its full-year plan, becoming one of the leading units under Điện Biên Power Company in rooftop solar power development.
In the green energy transition roadmap of Điện Biên Power Company, Mường Ảng Electricity stands out as a prominent unit in developing self-produced and self-consumed rooftop solar power. Managing the power grid across four communes facing difficult economic conditions, renewable energy development previously encountered numerous obstacles. However, with proactivity and flexibility in executing new government policies, the unit step-by-step resolved arising bottlenecks.
Fully grasping new government mechanisms and policies, centered on Decree No.58/2025/NĐ-CP and Decree No.243/2026/NĐ-CP, Mường Ảng Electricity proactively boosted dissemination and advisory work, step-by-step removing public concerns regarding investments in self-produced and self-consumed rooftop solar power.
From public consensus and the determination of all staff members, in the first six months of 2026, Mường Ảng Electricity mobilized and supported the successful installation for 21 customers, achieving 190.9% of the annual plan. Among these, 20 installed systems were connected to the power grid while 1 system operated independently, bringing total installed capacity to 381 kWp and surpassing the 360 kWp target by 105.8% of the 2026 plan.
Nguyễn Văn Tứ, Deputy Head of Mường Ảng Electricity, noted that systems put into operation were advised to adopt modern Inverter Hybrid technology from reputable manufacturers such as Huawei, Solis, and Luxpower, combined with Lithium storage batteries. This solution enables customers to manage power sources proactively, reduce electricity costs during peak heat periods, and guarantee operational safety.
To achieve these impressive figures, Mường Ảng Electricity launched the campaign “Each staff member is a green ambassador.” All 28 staff members registered customer development targets while utilizing data and practical efficiency from systems operating stably since 2020 to disseminate and advise relatives, local households, and businesses across the area, focusing on families and production or business establishments with high electricity demands.
Nguyễn Giang Nam, a worker at Mường Ảng Electricity, shared that safety is always prioritized as the top criterion. Mountainous residents often worry about fire, explosion, or equipment damage during rain and floods. Therefore, beyond thoroughly inspecting grounding and lightning protection systems, staff guide residents on monitoring power output via smartphones. Seeing systems operate stably and efficiently, many households proactively recommend installations to relatives and neighbors.
Parallel to internal emulation movements, Mường Ảng Electricity diversified dissemination efforts through direct meetings, village Zalo groups, and close coordination with local authorities. Technical staff accompanied customers from conducting surveys, calculating capacity, and selecting suitable equipment to completing regulatory procedures.
Although initial investment costs remain high and many residents maintain concerns regarding equipment lifespan and efficiency, Mường Ảng Electricity still identifies developing self-produced and self-consumed rooftop solar power as a long-term direction. In the coming time, the unit will continue boosting dissemination, technical advice, and customer support to access new policies, contributing to efficient energy usage, reducing pressure on the power grid, and step-by-step materializing green and sustainable development goals.
