Mường Ảng commune was established based on the merger of Mường Ảng town, Ẳng Cang commune, and Ẳng Nưa commune, hosting a population of over 17,000 people and an area of nearly 87 km². The combination of geographical location, natural conditions, and land resources, alongside socio-economic infrastructure that has step-by-step received synchronous investment, has created a vital foundation for the locality to effectively exploit its available advantages. This also establishes favorable conditions for Mường Ảng to concentrate all resources, step up investment attraction, and effectively exploit resources from various economic sectors to invest in local production and business development, generating a breakthrough in socio-economic development.
Hà Thị Thanh Tâm, Chairwoman of the Mường Ảng commune People’s Committee, stated that thanks to the province’s attention, along with improving the investment environment and accelerating administrative reform, many enterprises and cooperatives have come to explore cooperation opportunities, production linkages, and product consumption. Particularly, investment projects in agriculture have contributed to promoting the efficiency of local potentials and strengths, creating stable jobs for rural laborers while upgrading production values and local incomes.
Prominently, in agricultural production, the entire commune logs nearly 1,700 ha of coffee, with fresh coffee output averaging 16,500 tons/year and parchment coffee output in 2025 estimated at 3,300 tons. This is not only the largest coffee-growing region in the province but is also considered the Arabica coffee capital of the Northwest region. During the 2025-2030 period, Mường Ảng commune sets a target to maintain an effective coffee area of 1,662 ha and execute the new planting of 638 ha, raising the total coffee area to 2,300 ha.
Currently, multiple production facilities and cooperatives have boldly invested in machinery and coffee processing technology, building raw material zones linked with product consumption. Several enterprises have participated in purchasing and deep processing, contributing to upgrading the value of Mường Ảng coffee beans.
Tòng Thị Nọi, representing the “Cà phê Chị em” production facility, shared that over the past years, the facility has continuously invested to upgrade product quality from raw material selection and processing to packaging according to workflows that guarantee food safety and hygiene. She added that they also focus on brand building, improving designs and packaging, and stepping up product promotion and introduction on digital platforms, step-by-step expanding consumption markets inside and outside the province.
Mường Khoe Xanh Agricultural Service Cooperative, located in Noong Háng village, has step-by-step expanded its scale, built raw material zones, linked with local households, and developed a diverse range of fruit trees such as longan, jackfruit, green-skinned pomelo, and abiu. Covering an area of over 30 ha, the cooperative has been invested in for planting and caring along an organic direction, applying science and technology while complying with tight care workflows, reaching an annual output of over 300 tons of fruit and generating billions of VND in revenue and profit, while creating stable and seasonal jobs for hundreds of laborers.
Nguyễn Văn Mười, a representative from the Mường Khoe Xanh Agricultural Service Cooperative, shared that during its operations, the cooperative always receives attention and facilitation from the local party committee and authorities. He highlighted that the commune has always accompanied them in product promotion, consumption connectivity, and resolving difficulties arising during production, which serves as a vital driving force helping the cooperative expand its operational scale, upgrade product quality, and step-by-step build a local agricultural brand.
Determining that investment attraction is an important driving force boosting growth, Mường Ảng commune strives to mobilize a total social development investment capital of over VND 1,200 billion by 2030. The core focus is to attract and effectively deploy large-scale projects with a widespread impact, contributing to exploiting local potentials and advantages. Concurrently, the locality aims to resolve employment for around 1,000 to 1,125 local workers, ensuring that 100% of cooperatives and cooperative groups operate effectively and link along the value chain.
To materialize the above targets, Hà Thị Thanh Tâm added that in the coming time, Mường Ảng commune will continue to prioritize allocating the local budget and mobilizing resources from the Central government and the province to invest in framework infrastructure. The commune will also step up socialization, mobilize all social resources, focus on site clearance, and form clean land funds ready for projects, while inviting consulting experts on planning, investment promotion, and project development, alongside organizing intensive training courses on negotiation skills, project management, and investment law for cadres.
The commune also proactively participates in and connects at investment forums and fairs inside and outside the province, establishing and maintaining partnerships with business associations and potential investors. Furthermore, it will build a set of key performance indicators (KPIs) for each task, execute regular and unscheduled monitoring, collect feedback from enterprises and the public, strictly handle cases lacking responsibility or causing trouble and negativity, and promptly reward collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements.
With high political determination, an appropriate development orientation, and the active companionship and support of the local party committee and authorities, investment attraction will continue to be a vital driving force boosting economic growth, effectively exploiting potentials and advantages, and creating a foundation for Mường Ảng to develop rapidly and sustainably.
