Vietnam Airlines to increase flight frequency for 70th anniversary of Điện Biên Phủ Victory

ĐBP - The national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines will operate three flights daily between Hà Nội and Điện Biên from May 3 to 8, in response to the northwestern province's upcoming grand celebration of the 70th Điện Biên Phủ Victory anniversary (May 7, 1954 - 2024).

A Vietnam Airlines airplane touches down at Điện Biên Phủ Airport.

The flight frequency will almost double compared to the current one with an aim to meet increasing travel demand.

The airlines will also offer various convenient flight hour options and support local authorities in event’s organisational affairs.

There are now 11 weekly flights between Hà Nội and Điện Biên operated by Vietnam Airlines, which is a significant increase from when the airport reopened. Airbus A321 planes conduct every flight. All flights are operated by Airbus A321 aircrafts.

The national flag carrier is the official transport sponsor of the Điện Biên’s national tourism year 2024.

Themed "Glory of Điện Biên Phủ - Endless Experience", the Điện Biên’s national tourism year is a cultural, economic and social event held at the national and international scale, of which the 70th anniversary celebration is a highlight.

Passengers can buy tickets through the Vietnam Airlines website, mobile application or the airlines’ ticket office, and official agents.
