ĐBP - Since 2019, African Swine Fever (ASF) has appeared and repeatedly resurfaced in localities across the province, causing severe damage to farmers. With a large area, scattered population, and over 95% of livestock farming being small-scale and spontaneous, the risk of disease outbreaks remains high. In this context, developing safe, closed-loop, and sustainable livestock farming is not only a solution to cope with epidemics but also meets the growing market demand.

ĐBP - In today’s era of information technology boom, promoting and selling OCOP products on e-commerce platforms (e-commerce) is a trend that helps products get closer to consumers. However, alongside these opportunities, there are still many challenges for businesses, cooperatives, production facilities, and state management units.

ĐBP - Recently, pork consumption in some localities of Điện Biên province has dropped significantly. The main cause comes from consumer caution following reports of African Swine Fever (ASF) outbreaks. Although the disease is now under control, sporadic outbreaks continue to worry many people.

ĐBP - At the foot of the Tằng Quái pass, the Mường Khoe valley has long been known as the “capital” of Arabica coffee in the Northwestern region. Blessed with a cool climate year-round, fertile soil, and an ideal altitude, this region is proving its position on the map of Vietnamese coffee with its production, quality, and brand.

Over the years, Điện Biên province has issued several mechanisms and policies to support the development of forest production. However, the implementation process at the grassroots level still faces many difficulties and obstacles. Local residents are uninterested in forest planting, causing the set targets to fall short of expectations.

ĐBP - Following the recent restructuring and streamlining of the two-tier local government apparatus, the transfer of management for ongoing and completed infrastructure projects is being carried out urgently to ensure continuity. The goal is to avoid any delays or disruptions caused by the reorganization and merger of administrative units.

ĐBP - Hundreds of households in the former center of Thanh Hưng commune, now part of Thanh Nưa commune, Điện Biên province are enduring daily hardships as they navigate a severely degraded road leading to the old commune center. Despite repeated appeals and years of hope, the rugged, muddy path remains a persistent burden, especially during the rainy season.

ĐBP - Across the country, more than 540 communes and wards in 30 of 34 provinces and cities still have African swine fever (ASF) outbreaks that have not passed the 21-day quarantine period. The illegal sale, purchase, transport, slaughter, and consumption of sick or dead pigs, as well as the disposal of carcasses into the environment, are worsening the epidemic’s spread.

ĐBP - In recent years, people of Mường Phăng commune, Điện Biên province have worked tirelessly to establish a strong brand for the Hạ Đen grape variety grown in the area. However, some individuals have taken advantage of this growing reputation, selling untraceable products under the name “Mường Phăng grapes”. This situation is causing distress among genuine grape farmers and raising concerns about the potential loss of the local agricultural brand.
