Phìn Hồ Commune, located in Nậm Pồ District, is predominantly inhabited by the H’Mông, Thai, and Xạ Phang ethnic groups. As a highland border area, the primary livelihoods of the local people are farming and animal husbandry.
Given its vast land and grazing areas, Phìn Hồ has long been a key centre for livestock farming in the district. Recognising this, the commune has introduced a model focusing on vegetable cultivation and poultry farming. The model utilises nearly two hectares of communal land and is directly managed by the commune's staff.
The model is divided into three sections, each focusing on different types of crops and livestock. The black-bone chicken farming is overseen by the commune's Party Secretary, the pumpkin cultivation is managed by the commune’s People’s Committee Chairman, and the groundnut and taro cultivation is led by the two Vice Party Secretaries.
Through this model, various crops and livestock are being cared for according to technical guidelines, resulting in high productivity. The presence of local leaders has made the model more accessible to the people, improving communication and encouraging the expansion of high-yield, high-quality crops and livestock suitable for the local area.
