Additionally, a range of folk music and dance performances, festival reenactments, and traditional cultural rituals of various ethnic groups will be held. This provides a platform for ethnic communities in the province to present and promote their rich cultural heritage to visitors. Each song, dance, and cultural reenactment serves as a distinctive tourism product of the Northwest. Complementing these activities, the real-life performance show “Huyền tích U Va” (The Legend of U Va) will run throughout the four-day festival, offering a deeper insight into the mystical and profound spiritual life of the Thái ethnic people in Điện Biên.

One of the festival’s highlights is the “Người đẹp Hoa Ban” (Ban Flower Beauty) Contest, which celebrates the beauty of Northwest highland women, as pure and delicate as the white Ban flower blossoms blooming under the early morning sun. Contestants will participate in a variety of competitions, including traditional ethnic attire, “áo dài” (Vietnamese traditional long dress), evening gown, and an interview round to showcase their intelligence and talent. This is not only a beauty contest but also a platform to select cultural and tourism ambassadors for the province.

Another remarkable feature is the street parade on February 15, themed “Colors of Điện Biên.” With participants from various communes, wards, and schools across Điện Biên Phủ City and Điện Biên District, the parade will provide a vivid showcase of the diverse traditional ethnic costumes of the province.

The 2025 Ban Flower Festival also offers unique experiences in the “Highland Cultural Space”, which recreates the daily lives of ethnic communities in Điện Biên. Visitors can explore traditional houses such as the stilt houses of the Thái people, the low-roofed stone-walled houses of the Mông, the half-stilt, half-earth thatched-roof houses of the Dao people, and the earthen-walled houses of the Hà Nhì people.
