Savings accumulated and set aside over many years were chosen by Lò Thị Tường, Pa Kín village, Núa Ngam commune, to be deposited in response to the “Savings Deposit Week, Joining Hands for the Poor.” This program is organized by the Representative Board of the Board of Directors of the Bank for Social Policies of Núa Ngam commune in coordination with the Mường Thanh Bank for Social Policies Transaction Office.
For Tường, depositing savings is both a method of accumulation - proactively preparing for essential family expenses - and a practical deed that contributes additional capital to policy credit programs. Lò Thị Tường shared: “This is money I saved over a long time; whenever I had any savings, I put it aside. Previously, I kept it at home, but now depositing it into savings earns interest, and whenever my family needs it, the funds are there to use. I deposit whatever amount I can, chipping in a small part to the program so there is more capital for poor and disadvantaged households to borrow for production and business. I find this very practical, so having saved money, I participate.”
Right on the launch day of the program, a large number of cadres, civil servants, public employees, laborers, and residents in Núa Ngam commune responded actively, with over 60 savings passbooks opened, totaling more than VND 700 million. The program continues through the end of 2026, thereby mobilizing additional capital sources and enabling the Bank for Social Policies to efficiently implement preferential loan programs that meet the capital demands of poor households, disadvantaged families, and policy beneficiaries.
To participate, citizens can visit the Mường Thanh Bank for Social Policies Transaction Office in Pú Tỉu village, Mường Thanh ward, directly, or conduct transactions at communal transaction points according to fixed schedules. Alongside in-person transactions, customers can utilize VBSP SmartBanking services to carry out transactions in accordance with regulations. Individuals depositing savings can choose from various suitable products, such as recurring installment savings, demand deposits, and term deposits. Deposit interest rates apply equivalently to those of state-owned commercial banks across the province; deposits have their solvency guaranteed by the State.
In Sam Mứn commune and Mường Thanh ward, the program received enthusiastic responses from numerous cadres, Party members, civil servants, public employees, armed forces personnel, agencies, units, enterprises, and people of all ethnic groups. Right on the launch day, total savings deposits mobilized in Sam Mứn commune reached approximately VND 200 million, while Mường Thanh ward reached nearly VND 1.2 billion.
Phạm Thiết Chùy, Chairman of the Sam Mứn commune People’s Committee, stated that the locality identifies mobilizing idle funds among the populace as one of the practical solutions to generate additional resources for policy credit. The commune actively communicates and mobilizes cadres, Party members, agencies, units, businesses, and residents to participate in depositing savings aligned with their financial capacity. Through this, each mobilized amount will supplement capital reserves for the Bank for Social Policies to implement preferential lending programs, helping households in need secure additional capital to invest in production and business, create employment, elevate incomes, and steadily stabilize their lives.
In Búng Lao commune, the Mường Ảng Bank for Social Policies Transaction Office also organized the “Savings Festival, Joining Hands for the Poor” under the message “Depositing savings today - empowering the poor tomorrow.” Immediately following the launching ceremony, cadres, civil servants, public employees, armed forces personnel, representatives of agencies and units, and citizens in Búng Lao commune responded by opening savings passbooks at the Bank for Social Policies. Through this, over VND 850 million was mobilized across 48 opened passbooks.
Lò Thị Thanh, Director of the Mường Ảng Bank for Social Policies Transaction Office, stated: Currently, the unit has deployed 13 credit programs across the three communes of Búng Lao, Mường Lạn, and Mường Ảng. Capital sources concentrate on loans for poor households, near-poor households, newly escaped poverty households, production and business households in disadvantaged areas, ethnic minority households, laborers seeking employment creation, and policy beneficiaries.
The “Savings Festival, Joining Hands for the Poor” campaign contributes to mobilizing on-site capital sources, supplementing resources for policy credit programs. Through this, the Bank for Social Policies secures stronger conditions to meet the borrowing demands of local residents, particularly poor households, disadvantaged families, and policy beneficiaries across the area.
As of September 2026, total outstanding loans of the unit reached over VND 568 billion, with nearly 6,600 customers carrying active balances. The unit maintains communal transaction points and assigns credit officers in charge of specific localities. Simultaneously, it coordinates with local administrations, entrusted socio-political organizations, and Savings and Credit Groups to communicate policies and guide procedures, helping citizens access capital sources promptly.
From the personal savings of each individual, mobilized capital continues to supplement policy credit, creating additional conditions for poor households, disadvantaged families, and policy beneficiaries to access capital for production and business, generate jobs, and step by step stabilize their lives. Through this, the program contributes to spreading the spirit of joining hands for the poor through practical deeds within the community.
