The company-level tactical exercise with live firing was recently conducted under the themes: “Infantry company attacking an enemy defending in mountainous terrain; Infantry company defending in mountainous terrain.” The exercise program comprised four stages: transitioning to combat readiness states, marching and combat bivouacking; organizing battle preparations; executing combat maneuvers, and firing live ammunition.

To ensure the exercise unfolded according to plan and achieved its set objectives and requirements, the unit proactively made thorough preparations regarding training fields, practice grounds, and logistics. Emplacements, battle arrays, mobility axes, and live combat sectors were inspected and finalized in strict accordance with the exercise scheme. Work ensuring communications, logistics, technical support, military medicine, and live-fire safety was deployed in a synchronized and rigorous manner. Cadres across all echelons thoroughly disseminated missions, unified tactical solutions, and assigned specific duties to each division, while conducting checks and reviews prior to field execution. Regulations concerning the management and use of weaponry, ammunition, training ground boundaries, and safety protocols were comprehensively popularized and strictly enforced.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyễn Hồng Sơn, Deputy Chief of Staff of Regiment 82, stated that the unit’s Party Committee and Command focused on exercising close leadership and direction right from initial preparations. The unit attached special importance to building and perfecting the system of exercise documentation, meticulously preparing training grounds, materiel, and logistics, while conducting thorough reviews before practical maneuvers. During the exercise, the unit organized and directed proceedings according to schedule, sequence, and designated contents; all divisions actively adhered to assigned tasks, coordinating closely and handling emerging scenarios promptly, ensuring the exercise proceeded continuously and according to plan.

The exercise was organized under three operational frameworks, deployed simultaneously across primary and secondary combat axes. Participating in maneuvers, firepower units operated weapons and equipment organically assigned to the infantry company. To fulfill their duties with distinction, cadres and soldiers across divisions had to master technical specifications, features, and operating procedures of weapons and equipment. Simultaneously, tight coordination was maintained between firepower and infantry forces, ensuring all developments unfolded in alignment with tactical intentions.

Corporal Quàng Trung Huân, a soldier from Company 1, shared that he and his comrades consistently maintained a clear grasp of assigned tasks, mastered foundational movements, and entered the exercise with confidence. They resolved to fulfill their duties with excellence, strictly observe discipline and training field rules, and ensure absolute safety for personnel, weapons, and equipment, contributing to the collective success of the exercise.

In this exercise, the deployment of breach-clearing equipment was integrated into practice, enhancing scenario-handling proficiency. Sergeant Lò Văn Nguyên, Squad Leader of Squad 1, Platoon 1, Company 1, shared that during the exercise, he was tasked with operating breach-clearing equipment. This mission requires high precision and harmonious coordination among participating forces. The execution process must maintain tight synchronization between firepower, infantry, and commanders, thereby creating favorable conditions for infantry elements to advance swiftly, neutralize targets, and complete assignments.

Exercise outcomes achieved an excellent rating in technical execution and a good rating in tactics, completely neutralizing designated targets, fulfilling all contents according to schedule, and guaranteeing absolute safety for personnel, weaponry, and equipment. These results demonstrate that the unit’s training regimen adheres closely to real-world operational demands. This also provided an opportunity for cadres and soldiers to test practical skills under conditions approximating real combat, spanning technical manipulations, command adherence, and inter-branch coordination. The continuous scenarios unfolding on the drilling grounds served to cultivate composure, fortitude, focused concentration, and rapid, accurate decision-making when facing emerging contingencies.

Colonel Bùi Ngọc Tuyến, Commander of Regiment 82, Division 355, Military Region 2, affirmed that company-level tactical exercises represent a vital form of tactical training. Building upon these results, the Regiment continues leading and directing sub-units to maintain thorough preparations, organize rigorous training, and earnestly draw lessons from existing shortcomings to prepare effectively for year-end exercise mandates.

Field force maneuvers serve as a critical benchmark to evaluate leadership command competence, training quality, and the combat readiness posture of the armed forces. Drawing from real-world achievements, units secure solid foundations to review operational methods, perfect combat plans, and elevate composite strength, fulfilling the task of firmly defending the Fatherland under all circumstances.
