ĐBP - More and more farmers in Điện Biên are shifting their mindset and renewing cultivation methods to produce clean, safe agricultural products. Compared to 2024, the certified VietGAP farming area in the province has increased by 15.5 hectares; certified organic farming has expanded by 5.25 hectares; and the total certified safe farming area has grown by 17.75 hectares.

ĐBP - In these days leading up to the Mid-Autumn Festival, the local market has become vibrant. If in the past imported products dominated Mid-Autumn toys, this year consumer trends have shifted toward traditional items that embody Vietnamese cultural values.

Promoting e-cooperatives is therefore considered a key solution for turning the private economy into a growth driver.

ĐBP - In recent years, trucks loaded with Điện Biên province’s agricultural specialties have increasingly made their way across mountain passes to major cities nationwide. At supermarkets and trade fairs, local OCOP products are reaching consumers and receiving positive feedback. By focusing on quality and packaging while actively promoting trade for OCOP and specialty products, Điện Biên is steadily expanding markets, enhancing brand value, and working toward building nationwide product linkages.

ĐBP - Every year from September, water rises in the Sơn La Hydropower reservoir within Mường Lay ward and remains high for about six months. This marks the start of a bustling season for river-based livelihoods.

ĐBP- In the drive to build new-style rural areas, farmers in Điện Biên province are taking the lead, embracing the movement “Farmers excelling in production and business, joining forces to prosper together and sustainably reduce poverty”. From practical farming models to exemplary success stories, the movement has spread widely, reshaping rural communities and improving livelihoods.

ĐBP - Wildlife farming is considered a solution to conserve valuable genetic resources while reducing illegal hunting of wild species in nature.

ĐBP - Known as the country’s “macadamia capital,” the former Tuần Giáo district once had the largest macadamia-growing area in Việt Nam, with a booming planting movement and strategic partnerships with reputable partners such as TH Group and the Vietnam Macadamia Association. After the district was dissolved and its communes merged, although cooperation agreements have not yet been officially transferred, commitments to macadamia have remained unchanged.

ĐBP - Reviewing all forest areas, reorganizing staff assignments according to new administrative boundaries, and strengthening coordination with local authorities are among the proactive measures being implemented by the provincial forest rangers to enhance forestry management under the two-tier local government model.

ĐBP - Crop restructuring, the application of science and technology, the development of key agricultural products, clean production, and value-chain linkages are now central strategies helping Điện Biên province build a modern, sustainable agriculture, both raising farmers’ incomes and opening long-term development prospects for the province.

ĐBP - Artificial sand (manufactured sand) is considered a potential alternative as natural sand becomes increasingly scarce and its price soars. However, significant obstacles remain before this new material can secure a stable position in the market.
