Thorough preparation urged for up-coming major festivals in Điện Biên

ĐBP - On the morning of March 10, the Organizing Panel for the 2025 Ban (Bauhinia) Flower Festival and the 8th Cultural, Sports, and Tourism Festival of Điện Biên’s Ethnic Groups convened a meeting to assess the preparation progress and finalize implementation plans.

Comrade Vừ A Bằng, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee and Head of the Organizing Panel, chaired the meeting.

Reportedly, promotional activities for the festival have been intensified, with diverse and engaging content attracting public and visitor interest. The opening ceremony will be held at the provincial stadium, where stage setup and construction have been completed. From March 10, professional and amateur performers will commence rehearsals.

Cultural, tourism, and sports activities, including street parades and competitions, are actively being organized by relevant agencies and localities, promising a vibrant and captivating festival. The Hoa Ban Beauty Contest has completed the preliminary round, selecting 20 outstanding contestants for the next stages. The Presstrip program, organized by the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, has been planned and prepared, with 20 TikTokers, YouTubers, and journalists registering to participate in. Logistics, reception, and security measures are also being strengthened.

At the meeting, a representative from the Điện Biên Phủ city People’s Committee reported on preparations for the cultural street parade.

To ensure traffic management, Vice Chairman Vừ A Bằng requested the city to submit detailed parade plans to the police. The city was also urged to enhance media coverage of the event, ensure environmental cleanliness, mobilize youth union members, and facilitate media coverage. Additionally, Điện Biên Phủ city was instructed to coordinate with relevant departments to ensure food safety and prevent price hikes at accommodations and dining establishments.

Committee members also discussed arrangements for welcoming and accommodating national and international guests. Other topics included media plans for the festival, the live broadcast schedule for the Hoa Ban Beauty Contest finals, power supply arrangements, security and safety measures, visitor reception, cultural and culinary experiences, and preparations for the real-life performance show “Huyền tích U Va” (The Legend of U Va).

For the opening night for these events, delegates emphasized the need for stage safety, fire prevention, drone flight approvals, performance review, and copyright verification for displayed video content.

Vice Chairman Vừ A Bằng instructed districts to align local cultural and sports activities with the festival’s schedule, collaborate with media to promote Điện Biên’s tourism, and promptly establish highland cultural spaces. Regarding check-in spots and exhibitions, Điện Biên Phủ city, Điện Biên district, and Mường Ảng district were advised to coordinate with the provincial Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism to enhance visitor experiences.

Additionally, he requested a review and verification of proposed place names in Điện Biên Phủ city for official naming ceremonies. The Organizing Panel was also urged to expand public awareness campaigns, ensure security, organize transportation logistics, and maintain food hygiene, environmental cleanliness, and the sanitation of the Nậm Rốm River.
