The themed photo exhibition “Uncle Tôn and the Việt Nam People's Army” is divided into four sections, showcasing a total of 80 photos and documents. The first section includes 13 photos providing an overview of the context and formation of the Việt Nam People's Army. The second section contains 18 photos highlighting the development and growth of the armed forces. The third section, featuring 39 photos, illustrates Uncle Tôn’s care and attention to the soldiers of the Việt Nam People's Army. The final section displays 10 photos reflecting the army's efforts to implement Uncle Tôn’s guidance by actively engaging in labour and production to build socialism, contributing to a strong, prosperous, and happy nation.
The exhibition offers both locals and tourists insights into the formation and development of the Việt Nam People's Army and President Tôn Đức Thắng's significant contributions and support in building this force. It also reveals the deep bond between Uncle Tôn and the army, as well as the affection of the officers and soldiers for him. Ultimately, the exhibition aims to inspire younger generations, particularly those in the military, to continue striving to learn and embody the teachings of President Hồ Chí Minh and President Tôn Đức Thắng in the ongoing mission to build and safeguard the nation.
Through this exhibition, the Điện Biên Phủ Historical Victory Museum and the Tôn Đức Thắng Memorial Management Board seek to strengthen exchanges, share professional expertise, deepen their understanding of cultural heritage, and further enhance their collaboration in preserving and promoting cultural heritage values.
The photo exhibition “Uncle Tôn and the Việt Nam People's Army” will be on display at the Điện Biên Phủ Historical Victory Museum from October 3 through November.
