Over 1,000 students participate in Children’s Olympic Day 2025

ĐBP - On the afternoon of May 26, at the Victory Monument of Điện Biên Phủ, the Điện Biên provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in collaboration with the Vietnam Olympic Committee, organized the Children’s Olympic Day 2025 program. The program was attended by Trần Văn Mạnh, General Secretary of the Vietnam Olympic Committee.

This is the first year the Children’s Olympic Day program has been organized in Điện Biên province. With the motto “Faster - Higher - Stronger - Together,” the program attracted over 1,000 students from high schools and middle schools in Điện Biên Phủ city. Activities within the program included: a solidarity run, learning about the Olympic movement in Vietnam and globally, modern dance performances, and competitions in tug-of-war and wrestling.

In his opening speech, General Secretary of the Vietnam Olympic Committee Trần Văn Mạnh inspired the children of Điện Biên with the Olympic message.

He emphasized: “When we train, sports contribute to the health and strength of our minds and bodies. When we train, it inspires us to always strive and give our best. This inspires the world to move and brings us together as friends and as a community, regardless of where we are or how we choose to move. In the Olympic spirit, I call on everyone to ‘Let’s move together.’”

Students enthusiastically join the modern dance competition.

Additionally, during the program, students were provided with information to help them choose a sport to practice during the summer at the provincial Sports Training and Competition Center, the Điện Biên Dance Club, or join cross-country and marathon teams.

The tug-of-war competition was lively and energetic.

Through the Children’s Olympic Day 2025, the program aimed to promote the movement “All People Exercise According to the Example of President Hồ Chí Minh”; to encourage and motivate children to engage in physical training, sports, and recreational activities to improve their health, fitness, stature, and life skills.

At the end of the Children’s Olympic Day 2025, the Organizing Panel awarded first, second, and third prizes to outstanding athletes in middle and high school categories for events including tug-of-war, wrestling, and modern dance.
