It marks a symbolic cleansing of the previous year’s misfortunes and the welcoming of luck and blessings for individuals, families, and the wider community. The festival also provides an opportunity for residents to showcase folk games, traditional dances, and especially, the iconic water-splashing ritual of the Lào people.
