Hà Nội Days in Điện Biên programme kicks off

ĐBP – The Hà Nội Days in Điện Biên Province programme, co-organised by the people's committees of Hà Nội and Điện Biên Province, will take place from August 9-11 in Điện Biên Phủ City.

This programme is held to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital, the 70th anniversary of the Điện Biên Phủ Victory, and other significant national events in 2024.

The programme will include activities to promote Hà Nội’s culture and tourism in Điện Biên Phủ City. Specifically, the opening ceremony will be held at 8pm on August 9 at May 7 Square in Điện Biên Phủ City, and it will be broadcast live on Hà Nội, Điện Biên, and several other provincial radio and television stations.

A highlight of the programme is the special art exchange performance titled ‘Melodies of Unity’, which will be organised at 7.30pm on August 10 at May 7 Square in Điện Biên Phủ City.

Additionally, an exhibition with the theme ‘70 Years of Điện Biên Phủ Victory, 70 Years of the Liberation of the Capital’ will take place from August 9-11 at the Điện Biên Provincial Cultural Centre.

The exhibition will showcase prominent documents and images of Hà Nội, foreign affairs activities, Hà Nội – Điện Biên cultural exchanges, the military and people of the capital city during the resistance against the French (1945-1954), the Điện Biên Phủ Victory on May 7, 1954, and the Điện Biên Phủ Victory in the air in December 1972.

The programme will also feature the promotion and exhibition of agricultural products, traditional craft villages, and outstanding OCOP Products of the capital city, held from August 9-11 in Điện Biên Phủ City. This aims to promote OCOP products, tourism, and the distinctive traditional craft villages of Hà Nội in Điện Biên Province.

Additionally, there will be conferences and seminars to foster tourism cooperation, cultural exchanges, tourism promotion, and trade activities, contributing to strengthening the cooperative relationship between Hà Nội and Điện Biên.

The programme’s organising committee required all activities to be dignified, economical, effective, and practical, and to be associated with activities commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital and the 70th anniversary of the Điện Biên Phủ Victory.

The goal is to leave a positive impression on the ethnic communities of the northwest and Điện Biên Province about the unique cultural features, cultural heritage, and development achievements of the capital over the past 70 years.
