Điện Biên Welcomes Historic Paintings and Photos Commemorating Điện Biên Phủ Battle

ĐBP - On March 21, Phạm Quang Nghị, along with a delegation from the Viêt Nam Cultural Heritage Association, met with officials in Điện Biên Province. This gathering was marked by the presentation of paintings and photographs that portray the historical significance of Điện Biên Phủ, highlighting cultural exchange and commemoration efforts.

Phạm Quang Nghị, former Member of the Politburo, former Secretary of the Hà Nội Municipal Party Committee, and the family of the late painter Lê Huy Toàn, present the painting "Artillery Regiment at Điện Biên Phủ" to Điện Biên Province.

Trần Quốc Cường, a member of the Party's Central Committee and Provincial Party Secretary, along with leaders from various provincial departments and agencies, warmly received the delegation from Điện Biên Province.

In this meeting, Nghị and the Việt Nam Cultural Heritage Association contributed 70 photos titled "Điện Biên Phủ - A Heritage Perspective." Furthermore, to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Điện Biên Phủ Victory, the family of the late artist Lê Huy Toàn offered a painting named "Artillery Battalion at Điện Biên Phủ," created in 2000, as a homage to the people of Điện Biên Province.

Provincial Party Secretary Cường thanked Nghị and his delegation for their contributions, highlighting the cultural and historical importance of the donated items. He noted the significance of the 70 photos and the painting for Điện Biên Province, titled "Điện Biên Phủ - A Heritage Perspective" and "Artillery Battalion at Điện Biên Phủ," especially in light of the upcoming 70th anniversary of the Điện Biên Phủ Victory. Cường has directed agencies to find appropriate venues for these artifacts, ensuring they're preserved and accessible to the public, enriching the community's understanding of their historic legacy.

Cường appreciated Nghị's significant role in renovating historical sites and safeguarding cultural heritage in the region. He also thanked Nghị for his contributions towards organizing the 70th anniversary of the Điện Biên Phủ Victory, acknowledging the efforts that went into making the commemoration ceremony a success.
