Điện Biên welcomes 180,000 visitors during five-day holiday

ĐBP – Điện Biên Province welcomed 180,000 visitors during the five-day holiday from April 30 to May 1.

Tourists visit and learn about the Điện Biên Phủ Campaign Command Headquarters in Mường Phăng District.

Of these, 123 were international visitors and 35,000 were domestic tourists, marking a 2.37-fold increase compared to the same period last year.

The provincial Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism reported that total revenue from tourism activities reached VNĐ330.2 billion (US$13 million), representing a 2.38-fold increase compared to the same period last year.

Ninety-nine per cent of hotel rooms were occupied during this period.

It was reported that on April 30 and May 1, Điện Biên offered free visits to the Điện Biên Phủ Historical Victory Museum and other historical relics for ethnic groups in the area.

The province also staged the show "The U Va Legend" with free admission on those two days.

Simultaneously, parade rehearsals took place in the province in preparation for the 70th anniversary of the Điện Biên Phủ Victory.

All these activities attracted significant attention from both tourists and local residents.

Tourist destinations and historical sites received large numbers of travelers, prompting tourism staff and tour guides to work overtime continuously to ensure their needs were well served.

It is forecasted that the number of tourists visiting Điện Biên Province will continue to increase until May 7.

The local Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism will lead and collaborate with other departments and sectors to enhance the management of tourism quality and service prices, ensuring the best experience for visitors and leaving a positive impression on them.
