Xa Dung brings resolution into reality

ĐBP - Returning to Phì Nhừ village, Xa Dung commune today, the green hue of newly planted coffee and macadamia areas in recent years is gradually blanketing the degraded cassava and corn fields. This transformation is the initial result of implementing the commune’s Resolution on agricultural restructuring. Bringing the Party’s Resolution into practice has created consensus among the People and step-by-step shaped a new economic development direction for the locality.

Phì Nhừ is one of the leading villages in Xa Dung commune in executing the policy of shifting crop structures. Immediately after the commune Party Committee’s Resolution on agricultural development was issued, the village party cell organized a meeting with residents for dissemination and mobilization, encouraging people to alter their production mindsets and boldly convert inefficient crop areas into coffee and macadamia development.

Sùng A Chính, Deputy Secretary of the Party Cell and Head of Phì Nhừ village, stated: “After the Resolution of the commune Party Committee was enacted, the party cell disseminated the crop structure shift to the villagers, within which core focus was placed on expanding the coffee and macadamia cultivation areas across the village.”

Standing as one of the pioneering households to execute the crop structure shift policy, in 2025, the family of Thào A Dế boldly converted nearly 1 ha of corn and cassava cultivation land to grow coffee. After more than a year, the family’s coffee area has been growing and developing well, opening up expectations for a stable income source in the coming years. Beyond shifting crops, his family also developed commodity livestock husbandry, bringing a stable income of nearly VND 100 million per year.

Thào A Dế shared: “Executing the commune’s policy on crop structure shifting, my family boldly converted our corn and cassava land to plant coffee. Currently, the plants are growing well, and my family is very delighted. We hope that in the coming time, coffee trees will bring a stable income for us residents.”

From just a few initial households, Phì Nhừ village has grown nearly 10 ha of coffee to date; in 2026 alone, residents registered to plant over 12 ha of new coffee. These initial results in Phì Nhừ show that the policy of shifting crop structures is heading in the right direction, creating a premise for Xa Dung to realize the goal of agricultural restructuring.

According to the Action Program to implement the Resolution of the 1st Xa Dung Commune Party Committee Congress for the 2025-2030 tenure, the locality identifies agricultural restructuring as one of its core tasks, focusing on exploiting land potentials to develop the economy and reduce poverty sustainably. The commune strives to plant over 2,200 ha of new macadamia, coffee, and amomum trees throughout the tenure, within which the coffee area will reach around 1,700 ha, macadamia over 300 ha, and amomum around 200 ha.

Total grain food output will be maintained at 7,400 tons/year, the buffalo and cow herd will stabilize at 7,900 heads, and the commodity value from livestock and poultry husbandry will reach around VND 50 billion. By 2030, the average per capita income strives to reach around VND 57 million/person/year, and the poverty rate will decrease by an average of 6%/year or more.

To bring the policy into practice, the commune Party Committee has promoted its drastic leadership and direction role right from the resolution-building stage. All contents received opinion contributions from party cell secretaries, village heads, and heads of the Fatherland Front working boards to ensure they stayed close to reality and suited the conditions of each area, building high consensus among the People.

Specifically, immediately after Resolution No.17 on agricultural and forestry development was enacted, the commune Party Committee directed agencies, mass organizations, and village party cells to step up dissemination, guiding residents to deploy new models and step-by-step alter production methods.

Phạm Đức Minh, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Xa Dung commune People’s Council, stated: “Implementing Plan No.1850 of the province on coffee and macadamia development, to date, the locality has dug nearly 452 ha of coffee intercropped with macadamia with around 1.6 million pits, exceeding the target assigned by the province.”

Not only generating transformations in agriculture, materializing the resolutions and action programs of the commune Party Committee has also brought positive results across multiple fields of social life.

During the first six months, numerous local socio-economic targets reached and exceeded the set plans, where the winter-spring rice area reached 103.57% of the plan, the corn area hit 100.7%, and peanuts reached 105% of the plan, while the total buffalo and cow herd reached 12,405 heads. Social welfare work was guaranteed, and employment was resolved for 1,189 workers, reaching 114.32% of the assigned target.

The initial results demonstrate that the resolution does not merely stop on paper but has truly entered life, creating transformations in the awareness and actions of cadres, party members, and the public. Xa Dung is step-by-step materializing the goals of the Resolution of the commune Party Committee Congress, developing commodity agriculture, reducing poverty sustainably, and upgrading residents’ living standards.

Bringing the resolution into life in Xa Dung still faces many difficulties, but with the consensus of the people, the determination of the party committee and authorities, and the initial results achieved, the locality is shaping a vital foundation to open up a new development direction in the following years.
