Tủa Thàng gears up for election day

ĐBP - The election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and deputies to People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term will take place on March 15, 2026. With strong political resolve, coordinated engagement across the entire political system, and a high sense of responsibility among officials, Party members and people of all ethnic groups, Tủa Thàng commune is determined to organize a democratic, safe, economical and law compliant election so that election day truly becomes a major festival for all citizens.

In implementing Politburo Directive No. 46-CT/TW dated May 16, 2025 on leadership over the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term, the Party Committee and People’s Committee of Tủa Thàng commune have developed an election plan, established the commune level Election Committee and supporting subcommittees, and assigned specific tasks to each member under the principle of “clear responsibility, clear tasks and clear accountability”. Leadership and direction have been carried out in a unified and disciplined manner from the commune to village level, ensuring strict compliance with election laws and procedures.

The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune has coordinated with grassroots Party cells and village Fatherland Front Working Boards to organize conferences introducing candidates for the second term People’s Council of Tủa Thàng commune for the 2026-2031 term. These conferences were held at village level in accordance with prescribed procedures.

According to Sùng Nhè Mão, Secretary of the Party Cell of Làng Vùa village, village meetings and Party cell activities have focused on disseminating the Election Law and related regulations to officials, Party members and residents. This has helped raise voter awareness and responsibility, guiding voters toward selecting outstanding representatives for the National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels, contributing to local and national development.

Tủa Thàng commune participates in an online training conference on the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term.

The Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Tủa Thàng commune organized the first consultative conference in accordance with regulations, reaching agreement on the structure, composition and number of candidates to be introduced for the commune People’s Council for the 2026-2031 term. The determination of the representative structure was carried out carefully and methodically, ensuring balanced representation across sectors, fields and social groups, with particular attention to the proportion of female deputies, young deputies and representatives of various population groups.

According to Tẩn A Dén, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Tủa Thàng commune, following the first consultative round, the commune selected 33 candidates. A second consultative conference is expected to be held in early February 2026 to finalize a list of 31 official candidates to elect 19 deputies to the commune People’s Council for the 2026-2031 term, ensuring compliance with legal requirements on structure, ethnic composition and re-election ratios. All candidates meet statutory standards and demonstrate political integrity, ethical conduct, credibility, capacity and a strong sense of responsibility.

In late December 2025, the commune Election Committee convened a meeting to finalize the number of electoral units, the list of these units and the number of People’s Council deputies to be elected in each unit. The commune has been divided into four electoral units, with the allocation of deputies carried out in a scientific and balanced manner, taking into account population size, local characteristics and voter representation, thereby facilitating citizens’ exercise of their voting rights.

Local authorities in Tủa Thàng have intensified public communication on the election, viewing it as a key task to enhance awareness and responsibility among officials, Party members and residents. Through the public loudspeaker system, village meetings, Party cell activities and mass organizations, information on voters’ rights and obligations, as well as the significance of the election, has been widely disseminated. Plans have also been put in place to ensure political security and social order before, during and after the election, and authorities are prepared to respond to any emerging situations.

Chang A Máu, a resident of Huổi Lóng village in Tủa Thàng commune, shared that thanks to direct outreach and explanations from commune and village officials, people now have a clearer understanding of voters’ rights and obligations and the significance of each ballot. Residents are enthusiastic, confident and ready to participate fully and responsibly in the election.

With thorough and comprehensive preparations, a strong sense of responsibility across the political system and broad public consensus, Tủa Thàng commune is determined to successfully organize the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term, ensuring democracy, safety and strict compliance with the law, while further strengthening voter confidence in the Party, the State and authorities at all levels.
