At the meeting, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Trần Tiến Dũng informed the Consul General of several outstanding results in the socio-economic development of Điện Biên province over the past time. At the same time, he outlined the province’s potentials and advantages in developing agriculture, commerce, tourism, border gate economy, and renewable energy.

The Secretary of the provincial Party Committee hoped that the Consulate General of Việt Nam in Kunming would continue to pay attention to, support, and act as a bridge to promote cooperative relations between Điện Biên province and China’s localities and enterprises in various fields. Among these, the focus is on accelerating the process of completing procedures to officially open the A Pa Chải - Long Phú bilateral border gate; striving to soon organize the announcement ceremony and put the border gate into official operation, in order to enhance the circulation of goods and develop the border economy; connecting China’s enterprises to participate in consuming and underwriting the province’s characteristic and strong agricultural products such as macadamia and coffee; and attracting enterprises to invest in the fields of renewable energy and wind power.

Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Trần Tiến Dũng affirmed that Điện Biên province is always ready to create favorable conditions for enterprises and investors coming to explore cooperation and investment opportunities, contributing to promoting the increasingly substantive, effective, and sustainable development of the friendly and cooperative relations between Việt Nam and China.

The Consul General of Việt Nam in Kunming highly appreciated the potentials, advantages, as well as the development orientation of Điện Biên province. At the same time, the Consul General affirmed the continuation of coordinating and supporting connections with China’s localities and enterprises to promote investment and trade cooperation, contributing to strengthening the friendship and cooperative relations between Điện Biên province and China’s localities in the coming time.
