Provincial Party Secretary Trần Tiến Dũng works with Singapore Embassy in Vietnam

ĐBP - On June 29, at the headquarters of the Singapore Embassy in Vietnam, a delegation from Điện Biên province led by Trần Tiến Dũng, Member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Điện Biên provincial Party Committee, visited and worked with the Singapore Embassy in Vietnam.

Rajpal Singh, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Singapore to Vietnam, along with embassy officials and staff, received and worked with the delegation.

The working session was also attended by leaders of the Provincial Party Committee’s Organizing Commission, the provincial Party Committee Office, and leaders of provincial departments and sectors, including Foreign Affairs, Agriculture and Environment, and the provincial Investment, Trade, and Tourism Promotion Center.

Trần Tiến Dũng, Member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, speaks at the working session.

During the working session, provincial Party Secretary Trần Tiến Dũng outlined the characteristics and introduced the socio-economic development potential and advantages of Điện Biên province. He highlighted its strategic position, sharing borders with both Laos and China, alongside a system of international and national border gates that create favorable conditions to expand trade with Northern Laos, Southwestern China, and the Greater Mekong Subregion. Besides the special historical value of the Điện Biên Phủ Victory and a rich cultural identity, Điện Biên currently possesses an abundant land fund for development and the newly upgraded Điện Biên Airport, which establishes convenient connectivity with major economic centers.

Rajpal Singh, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Singapore to Vietnam, speaks at the working session.

In a spirit of friendly cooperation, the provincial Party Secretary requested the Singapore Embassy to support three focal content areas. These encompass connecting directly with Sembcorp Industries Group, VSIP, and Singaporean enterprises for investment surveys, as well as introducing the province’s priority project portfolio - which covers green infrastructure, renewable energy, logistics, agro-forestry products, and tourism - to Singaporean investment funds and business associations. Furthermore, the province requested support for training programs and the sharing of experiences regarding sustainable planning, the circular economy, digital transformation, and high-quality human resource development.

Delegates take a group photo at the working session.

To materialize these cooperation opportunities, the provincial Party Secretary proposed that the Singapore Embassy consider and coordinate to organize a Singapore investment promotion conference right in Điện Biên province. He expressed his wish that the Ambassador and his associates would serve as a vital bridge to actively introduce and connect large Singaporean corporations, businesses, and investment funds to participate in this event, thereby creating conditions for all parties to directly meet, conduct field surveys, and seek practical business cooperation opportunities locally.

On behalf of the provincial leadership, provincial Party Secretary Trần Tiến Dũng committed that Điện Biên would always accompany partners, provide full information, prepare project portfolios, and create the most favorable and transparent conditions in strict accordance with legal regulations for Singaporean partners to study and deploy their projects.

The provincial Party Secretary expressed firm confidence that, with the prestige of the Singapore Embassy and the solid foundation of fine relations between the two countries, this working session would open up practical cooperation opportunities, contributing to the shared goals of green growth and sustainable development.
