Promoting its role and responsibility, the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) at all levels within Điện Biên province has proactively participated in preparations and implemented all steps according to plan, ensuring the election is conducted democratically and legally as a true festival for all people. To fulfill these assigned tasks, the Standing Boards of the VFF at all levels developed specific plans to ensure progress while coordinating closely with the government and member organizations for a synchronized and effective process. This included participating in the establishment of election-responsible organizations and organizing consultation conferences to select and nominate candidates for the National Assembly and People’s Councils in accordance with legal regulations.
The VFF at various levels collaborated with the People’s Committees of the same level to organize voter meetings at places of residence to gather comments and confidence ratings from voters regarding the candidates. Simultaneously, they performed their role in supervising election preparations, receiving and handling complaints, denunciations, or reflections related to the election while promptly capturing social public opinion and intensifying communication about the importance of the event. Selecting candidates through consultation is a central task for the VFF at all levels, and the Standing Boards organized the first, second, and third consultation conferences following the correct procedures and timelines. Nominees were selected through a democratic and transparent process that ensured the required structure and composition, including ratios for women, non-Party members, young people, and ethnic minorities.
With a spirit of responsibility and objectivity, the provincial VFF Committee reached a consensus on the list of qualified candidates for the 16th National Assembly and selected eligible individuals for the provincial People’s Council for the 2026-2031 term. Voter contact meetings for candidates of the provincial People’s Council were held from March 5 to March 7, 2026, at 41 locations with 77 sessions attended by 6,316 voters who contributed 124 opinions and recommendations.
For candidates at the commune and ward levels, 1,176 voter contact meetings have been held since March 4, 2026, with over 122,935 attendees providing 1,986 recommendations. Tống Văn Ba, head of Residential Group 6 in Mường Ảng commune, shared that voters highly agree with the action programs and expect that once elected, the deputies will fulfill their commitments and represent the legitimate aspirations of the people.
Election inspection and supervision have also been specially prioritized by the provincial VFF Committee. The Standing Board performs regular monitoring by tracking the implementation of directive documents, the progress of the election process, and the receipt of candidate files. They also aggregate recommendations from the public to promptly report to competent authorities, ensuring the election remains transparent and on schedule.
To this end, the Standing Board issued two plans for inspection and supervision, forming teams to visit 10 communes and wards directly while also participating in seven out of nine inspection teams established by the provincial Election Committee across 30 communes and wards. These inspections focused on the implementation of election steps, consultation work, and the public posting of voter and candidate lists. This proactive responsibility and close coordination not only ensure a democratic and safe election but also consolidate voter confidence and promote the people’s right to mastery, ultimately helping to select exemplary deputies who represent the will of the people.
