Attending the opening ceremony were Cao Thị Tuyết Lan, Member of the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee and Standing Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Council; Nguyễn Minh Phú, Member of the provincial Party Executive Committee and Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee; alongside representatives of departments, branches, localities, and numerous local residents and visitors.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Nguyễn Minh Phú emphasized that tourism today represents not merely a journey to explore landscapes and scenic attractions, but an experiential discovery of the culture and people of each region. Within this, culinary heritage occupies a vital position, as each traditional dish allows travelers to explore native agricultural produce, living customs, practices, and community cultural characteristics.

Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyễn Minh Phú expressed the expectation that through the Festival, the signature culinary values of Điện Biên will be promoted extensively; culinary products will steadily enhance their quality, perfect service standards, and intertwine closely with tour programs, travel routes, and visitor attractions. Consequently, this will help elevate gastronomy into a crucial resource for tourism development, shaping Điện Biên into an appealing, identity-rich, hospitable, and sustainable destination.

Taking place from September 25 to 28, 2026, the Festival brings together nearly 100 booths presenting signature delicacies, OCOP items, traditional specialties, and agricultural produce from Điện Biên. Across the Festival grounds, exhibition stalls display and introduce diverse culinary specialties and iconic items from localities throughout the province, offering opportunities for residents and travelers to savor highland flavors, discover local preparation techniques, and purchase authentic provincial delicacies.
