With new confidence and spirit, people of all strata across the Fatherland expressed their trust in the Congress results as well as their determination to accompany the Party and State, turning the Congress Resolution into strong motivation and action, contributing to building our country for rapid and sustainable development in the new era.

The success of the 14th National Party Congress has opened a new chapter full of expectations for the new development journey of the country.

The Congress voted with 100% of deputies agreeing to approve the Resolution. The Congress approved the basic contents regarding the assessment of the results of implementing the Resolution of the 13th Congress; the results of summarizing a number of theoretical and practical issues on the socialist-oriented renovation process over the past 40 years in Vietnam, and summarizing 15 years of implementing the Party Charter (2011 - 2025) stated in the documents of the 13th Party Central Committee presented to the Congress.

Stating the vision and development orientation, the Resolution of the 14th Congress emphasizes that the development goal is to resolutely and persistently maintain a peaceful and stable environment; develop the country rapidly and sustainably and firmly defend the Fatherland; comprehensively improve and enhance the people’s lives; strategic autonomy, self-reliance, self-confidence, strong advancement in the nation’s new era; successfully implement the goal of becoming a developing country with modern industry and upper-middle income by 2030; realize the vision of becoming a developed, high-income country by 2045 for a peaceful, independent, democratic, prosperous, civilized, and happy Vietnam, steadily advancing towards socialism.

The main development goals and targets for the 5 years 2026 - 2030 set by the Congress are: Strive to achieve an average Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth rate of 10%/year or more; GDP per capita to reach about 8,500 USD by 2030; the proportion of processing and manufacturing industry to reach about 28% of GDP; the proportion of the digital economy to reach about 30% of GDP. Total asset accumulation is about 35 - 36% of GDP. Total social investment capital on average for 5 years is about 40% of GDP. The poverty rate (according to the multidimensional poverty standard for the period 2026 - 2030) maintains a reduction of 1 - 1.5 percentage points/year... The Resolution outlines 12 development orientations for the country in the 2026 - 2030 period, emphasizing continuing to strongly innovate thinking and action, promoting strategic breakthroughs, creating a new development ecosystem, ensuring the viewpoint of taking development for stability, stability to promote development and constantly improve the lives and happiness of the people; focusing on comprehensively and synchronously perfecting institutions for rapid and sustainable national development.

Establishing a new growth model with the goal of improving productivity, quality, efficiency, added value, and competitiveness of the economy; taking science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation as the main driving force; creating new high-quality production forces and production methods, with the focus on data economy, digital economy, green economy, circular economy; promoting digital transformation, green transformation, energy transition, structural transformation, and quality of human resources...

Five key tasks in the 14th Congress tenure are to focus on prioritizing the synchronous construction of development institutions, with the focus on the legal system, mechanisms, and policies to timely and completely remove bottlenecks and blockages, promote innovation, ensure synchronization and harmony between growth and development; between economy, society, environment and national defense - security, foreign affairs; between innovation, perfecting institutions and key, comprehensive transformations in all fields, consistent with the 3-level government model, meeting the requirements of rapid and sustainable national development in the new era.

Continue to promote the building and rectification of the Party and the political system to be clean and comprehensively strong; synchronously innovate methods and improve self-innovation and self-perfection capacity to strengthen the effectiveness and efficiency of the Party’s leadership and governance. Deploy effective operations of the political system apparatus according to the new model, ensuring synchronous and smooth operation.

The Congress identified 3 strategic breakthroughs to focus on during the tenure. In which, strong breakthroughs in development institutions, improving the capacity for planning and organizing the implementation of the Party’s guidelines and lines, State policies and laws to clear, liberate, and effectively promote all resources to become competitive advantages, reducing compliance costs for the people and businesses; promoting decentralization and delegation of power in development management and governance between the Central and local levels, promoting the role of autonomy and self-responsibility of localities.

The results of the 14th Congress continue to firmly consolidate the trust of cadres, party members, and the people nationwide in the leadership role of our Party. Congress documents were prepared elaborately, demonstrating the crystallization of wisdom, reflecting close reality, and clearly pointing out opportunities and challenges. At the same time, proposing fundamental, feasible solutions to build a rapidly and sustainably developing Vietnam, maintaining independence, sovereignty, ensuring security and order in all situations.

Immediately after the closing of the Congress, General Secretary Tô Lâm presided over and spoke at an international press conference announcing the results of the 14th Congress. On behalf of the Congress Presidium and the 14th Party Central Committee, General Secretary Tô Lâm affirmed that the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam is a golden milestone in the 96-year history of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the flow of the heroic, thousand-year-civilized Vietnamese nation.

The General Secretary clearly stated that the Congress not only highly agreed on the content of documents and the action program of the Congress but also had very high unity and focus in selecting personnel for the 14th Party Central Committee. The Congress elected the Party Central Committee consisting of 200 comrades; including 180 official members and 20 alternate members. Immediately after that, the Party Central Committee elected the Politburo, the Secretariat, the General Secretary, and the Party’s leading agencies, assigning comrades of the Politburo and the Secretariat to participate in tasks. “Comrades of the 14th Party Central Committee represent about 5.6 million members of the Communist Party of Vietnam, converging all standards of moral qualities, prestige, capacity, qualifications, and highly trusted by the Congress to be elected to the Party’s leading agencies between two Congress tenures to shoulder responsibilities before the Party and the people in the new revolutionary stage,” the General Secretary affirmed.

Deep faith in the success of the 14th National Congress of the Party as well as in the contingent of leading cadres elected by the Congress with trust, shouldering the responsibility of bringing the country into a new stage of development. Decisions approved at the Congress also demonstrated strategic vision, meeting the aspirations of the people correctly. Many enthusiastic and responsible opinions were acknowledged and highly appreciated by the Presidium and directed to be absorbed and perfected in draft documents before being presented to the Congress for decision, demonstrating high unity throughout the Party for the goal of national development.

Decisions on economic, cultural, and social development are concretized clearly and close to reality. Especially, border areas and difficult regions receive deep attention from the Party, clearly shown in major orientations and policies. Many discussion opinions presented at the Congress focused on the key contents of the documents, reflecting the thoughts and aspirations of cadres, party members, and the people. The direct emphasis on the goal of “happy people” in the Documents of the 14th National Party Congress shows the Party’s strategic, humane, and progressive vision, reflecting maturity in leadership thinking and national governance.

It is hoped that the new leadership team of the Party will effectively concretize the guidelines and decisions of the Congress with practical actions, daring to think, daring to do, daring to take responsibility, always placing the interests of the people above all, first of all. With the spirit of innovation, aspiration for dedication, and will for the people’s happiness, the 14th National Congress of the Party will open a new stage of development, where every citizen enjoys the fruits of growth, lives safely, fully, and happily in the era of the nation’s rise.

The Party Committee, authorities, and ethnic people of Điện Biên province with iron faith and the spirit of unanimity are determined to create new momentum and strength to successfully implement the goals set by the Resolution, contributing to building a strong Điện Biên province and Vietnam on the new journey.
