The results achieved so far are creating a foundation for the locality to fulfill its 2026 targets, gradually improve living standards and pursue sustainable development.

From the beginning of the year, the Mường Tùng commune Party Committee translated the policies and resolutions of the Party Central Committee and the province into tasks suited to local conditions, while clearly identifying key priorities and breakthrough areas. During the eight-month period, the commune Party Committee held 32 meetings, including 9 Party Executive Committee meetings and 23 Party Standing Committee meetings, and promptly issued documents to provide leadership and direction.

Political and ideological education, inspection and supervision, as well as efforts to prevent and combat corruption, wastefulness and other negative practices, have been strengthened, helping tighten discipline and administrative order and orienting the political system's activities toward the grassroots.

Identifying agriculture and forestry as the main sources of livelihood, Mường Tùng maintained 586 hectares of maize, 650 hectares of cassava and 600 hectares of upland rice, while tending 74.79 hectares of cinnamon, 139.8 hectares of cardamom and 3.07 hectares of coffee. Notably, the commune newly planted 51 hectares of macadamia intercropped with coffee, reaching 102% of the annual target and opening up prospects for the development of commodity production areas.

The livestock population reached 55,990 head of cattle and other livestock, along with 45,379 poultry. Disease prevention, maintenance of irrigation facilities and disaster preparedness and response have been carried out regularly.

Forest management, protection and wildfire prevention and firefighting have been strengthened, with forest cover maintained at 61.47%. The locality is gradually tapping into its potential in hydropower, trade and services. The 16-MW Nậm He Hydropower Plant is in operation, while the Mường Tùng Hydropower Project, with a planned capacity of 13 MW, is under development.

During the eight-month period, the commune issued 12 new business registration certificates and amended four certificates, with total registered capital of VND 250 million. Spring festivals and cultural activities have been linked with the promotion of agricultural products, handicrafts, traditional cuisine and community-based tourism. More than 85% of villages have access to 4G and 5G coverage, making it easier for residents to use digital services.

Economic development has been accompanied by efforts to ensure social welfare. The commune coordinated the organization of conferences and job fairs and opened two vocational training courses for 70 workers. During the Lunar New Year of the Horse and the period between harvests, the locality provided 532 households with 75,165 kilograms of rice and distributed 535 gift packages worth a total of VND 343 million to policy beneficiaries and households facing difficulties.

Education has received strong support from the community, with more than VND 1 billion provided for school facilities and disadvantaged students. Across the commune, five of six schools continue to meet level 1 national school standards. A total of 3,176 students maintained regular attendance in line with the plan and completed the 2025-2026 academic year.

Healthcare, public health, food safety, and cultural and sports activities have also continued to be maintained. Administrative reform and digital transformation have made notable progress. The commune completed the targets for collecting, cleaning and synchronizing population data under Project 06 and promoted the use of the Điện Biên Smart application and the electronic Party member handbook.

From January 1 to August 25, 2026, the commune Public Administration Service Center received and returned results for 511 administrative applications, of which 510 were submitted online. All applications were processed ahead of schedule, helping reduce the time and costs incurred by local residents.

National defense and security have been maintained. The armed forces have strictly maintained combat readiness, patrol and area control duties, while completing the selection of 26 citizens for military service. Efforts to prevent and combat crime and drug-related offenses have been carried out resolutely. Functional forces persuaded local residents to voluntarily surrender 63 homemade firearms. Three models aimed at maintaining security and public order have been established and put into operation, promoting the role of the public in safeguarding national security.

Party grassroots organization building has also achieved important results. In June 2026, the commune completed the restructuring, reorganization and renaming of villages, reducing their number from 18 to 13. The 13 village Party cells for the 2025-2030 term were consolidated and began operating on July 1, 2026.

During the eight-month period, the commune admitted 25 new Party members, achieving 78% of its annual target, while providing training for 31 new Party members and 48 outstanding non-Party members. To date, 100% of Party organizations and 97.55% of Party members use the electronic Party member handbook. Party member data have been standardized and updated. No corruption or negative-practice cases have arisen in the locality.

Despite these achievements, Mường Tùng continues to face challenges. Agricultural production remains small-scale and fragmented, with limited linkages, while the application of scientific and technical advances is uneven. Investment resources remain limited, and infrastructure in some villages does not yet meet requirements. Land, natural resource and environmental management also faces difficulties, while the risk of forestry violations and forest fires remains.

In the remaining months of the year, the commune Party Committee will continue to strengthen the leadership capacity and combativeness of Party organizations and renew its leadership methods based on the principles of “clear people, clear tasks, clear timelines, clear responsibilities and clear results.” The locality will focus on tending key crops, particularly the newly planted 51 hectares of intercropped macadamia and coffee, applying scientific and technical advances, and proactively preventing and responding to natural disasters, disease outbreaks and forest fires.

Alongside maintaining 10 of the 19 new-style rural development criteria, the commune will continue to improve the quality of education, healthcare and vocational training, promote employment, administrative reform and digital transformation, and ensure social welfare.

Mường Tùng commune’s total state budget revenue in 2025 reached 312% of the provincial-assigned estimate, while revenue in the first six months of 2026 reached 57.95% of the estimate.

Building on these results, addressing shortcomings and mobilizing and using resources effectively will provide a foundation for Mường Tùng to fulfill its 2026 targets, build a clean and strong Party organization and political system, and lay the groundwork for sustainable growth.
