Learning from Uncle Hồ in a border commune

ĐBP - In the border commune of Mường Nhà, the movement of learning and following Hồ Chí Minh’s ideology, morality, and lifestyle is spreading increasingly widely. Every cadre, party member, and citizen in the commune has been actively learning and following Uncle Hồ through specific and practical actions.

At the recent 12th Provincial Sports Festival, Lò Thị Vũ, an 8A4 student at Phu Luông Primary and Secondary Boarding School, excellently won the Gold Medal in the 100m backstroke event. With her achieved results, Lò Thị Vũ became one of the typical faces of the school and the locality. Born and raised in Mường Nhà commune, a place with many difficulties, this did not diminish the young student’s will to rise. Loving sports, especially swimming, and with the encouragement of teachers and family, Vũ was determined to pursue her passion.

Every day, Vũ’s training environment is just a pond belonging to a resident near the school. Despite difficult and lacking training conditions, Vũ persistently practiced regularly after every school hour. That very perseverance helped her reap high achievements at the provincial tournament. Vũ shared that she was very happy and proud to win the Gold Medal. This will be the motivation for her to continue trying to study and train better in the future.

The movement of learning and following Uncle Hồ in Mường Nhà is concretized by residents through effective economic development models with a spirit of daring to think, daring to do, and boldly transforming production models.

In Na Khoang village, Lò Văn Cường’s family boldly partnered with the cooperative to convert over 1 hectare of rice fields to growing green J chilies. Thanks to applying science and technology to production, the chili area grows well. After more than two months of planting and caring, the chili plants began to yield harvests, averaging once every 10 days. After harvesting, the chilies are purchased at VND 5,000/kg.

Lò Văn Cường stated that previously, the field area only produced one crop per year; the spring crop lacked water so it was left abandoned. Seeing the land wasted, he researched crop conversion. After referencing the green J chili planting model and seeing its effectiveness, he decided to follow it. To date, after three rounds of fruit harvesting with stable selling prices, it has brought his family a higher source of income compared to growing rice on the same area unit.

Responding to the movement, associations and mass organizations in Mường Nhà commune actively emulate through many practical and meaningful activities associated with learning and following Hồ Chí Minh’s ideology, morality, and lifestyle. Aiming to promote the role of women in household economic development, improving meals, and building a green, clean, and safe living environment, the Mường Nhà commune Women’s Union launched the emulation movement “Every rural member’s family has 1 clean vegetable garden.” Participating in the movement, members are instructed on soil preparation techniques, fertilizing, and planting vegetables suitable to local conditions.

Lò Thị Du, Vice President of the commune Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and President of the commune Women’s Union, said this is one of the specific activities of the commune Women’s Union in learning and following Uncle Hồ through practical actions close to the people’s lives. From building clean vegetable gardens and maintaining environmental sanitation to developing the household economy, women members are step by step forming a responsible, economical, and united lifestyle while taking care of building happy families.

Not only the Women’s Union, the youth of Mường Nhà actively emulate learning and following Uncle Hồ through many practical tasks such as organizing journeys to red addresses, launching “Green Sunday”, participating in tree planting in early spring, and digging holes to plant coffee and macadamia. Most recently, the Mường Nhà commune Youth Union coordinated with the Border Post of the Huổi Puốc Border Gate to organize a patrol of the border line and landmarks. The footprints on the patrol route contributed to clearly depicting the image of Mường Nhà’s youth: steadfast, responsible, and persistently dedicated.

Vàng A Pó stated that after the merger, Mường Nhà commune has more than 41.8 km of borderline with 16 landmarks. Learning and following Uncle Hồ, the youth of Mường Nhà commune always actively join hands with party committees, authorities, border guard forces, and the people to firmly protect national border sovereignty. Through this, they not only spread the spirit of dedication and vanguard action but also contribute to consolidating the trust of party committees, authorities, and the people in the youth union members.

The reality from specific models and approaches in Mường Nhà shows that learning and following Uncle Hồ most effectively starts from the simplest and most relatable things in daily life. When each individual and collective turns learning and following Uncle Hồ into voluntary actions suitable to actual conditions, the movement will truly go deep, spreading strongly and sustainably.
