Thanks to the attention of various levels and sectors, the first “red seeds” in Huổi Khon have sprouted and borne sweet fruit, pioneering the steady rise of a once-turbulent land toward prosperity and peace on the nation’s frontier.

To firmly preserve the Party’s ideological foundation, local party committees determined that the political system must be consolidated from the roots, taking the construction of the “people’s heart posture” as an enduring shield to smash all distorted arguments of hostile forces. The work of discovering, nurturing, and admitting outstanding individuals to create local sources of party members has been actively deployed.

In 2019, Vàng A Vảng had the honor of becoming the first son of Huổi Khon to be admitted to the Party. To date, after seven years of standing in the ranks of the Party, Vàng A Vảng has truly become a pioneering and diligent party member, always striving his best for local development. He also serves as an important bridge between the villagers and the local party committee and authorities. Promoting his pioneering role, he sets an example in mobilizing residents to implement a civilized lifestyle, boldly transitioning crop structures, and applying new livestock breeding methods into practice while upholding community solidarity and maintaining local security and order.

Trust in a bright future continues to blossom and bear fruit. On March 25, 2023, the Party Cell of Huổi Khon 2 village was officially established with three party members. This event marked a historical milestone, helping nine out of nine villages in Nậm Kè commune, which belonged to Mường Nhé district at the time, possess independent party cells, officially eradicating all “blank villages” without party cells across this strategic border area of the province. Up to now, both Huổi Khon 1 and Huổi Khon 2 villages have independent party cells with a total of eight party members who always remain steadfast in their political bravery.

The “red seeds” in Huổi Khon have truly become the core force on the ideological front, setting an exemplary lead in economic development while acting as close, citizen-centric disseminators who help the people raise their vigilance against all enticement plots by bad actors. Consequently, the villagers actively participate in maintaining security and order, promptly reporting any strangers or unusual signs to the village heads and party cell secretaries to inform the commune police, determined not to let bad actors find ways to entice or instigate illegal acts.

By the porch, a gentle breeze brings the scent of fragrant rice into the village, where Giàng A Phổng from Huổi Khon 1 village, who has lived through the low points of the land, emotionally shared his thoughts.

“In the past, poverty and illiteracy made it easy for the villagers to listen to the words of bad actors. Now, the Party and the State have invested in electric lighting and built wide, easy-to-travel roads, while food and clothing have received significant support from the Party, the State, and the locality. The people of Huổi Khon have now opened their eyes and hearts, and the community only trusts and follows the Party,” Giàng A Phổng said.

A complete makeover for the borderland

On a morning in early May 2026, the concrete road leading into Huổi Khon village in Nậm Kè commune was dry after a night of rain. The journey of nearly 10km from the commune center to the village is now smooth, completely leaving behind the past scene of “dust on sunny days and mud on rainy days.”

Nguyễn Tiến Thành, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Nậm Kè commune People’s Committee, stated that thanks to the special attention of the Party and the State, the system of electricity, roads, schools, and medical stations in the two Huổi Khon villages has been synchronously invested. The national target programs have acted as a lever to constantly raise the people’s standard of living, while the local party committee, authorities, and socio-political organizations have actively supported the residents with seedlings, capital, and guidance on new production and husbandry methods to raise incomes and improve life quality over many years.

The greatest turnaround in Huổi Khon lies not only in infrastructure but also in a breakthrough shift in the production mindset. Thanks to the forest environmental service payment policy, Huổi Khon 1 and 2 villages have proactively contracted to protect over 1,200 hectares of forest, which provides local households with additional annual income to create stable livelihoods. On sloped land, the villagers have introduced coffee cultivation, while stubbornly transforming upland rice areas into terraced fields for wet rice production. Beyond agricultural production, several households in the village have opened grocery stores to serve the immediate needs of families within the community.

Beside his spacious, sturdy house, Head of Huổi Khon 2 village Thào A Gia proudly affirmed that his people now have full bellies and clear minds. Thanks to the Party, the village children can all attend school to become literate, and every household uses grid electricity and lives in a solid new house. He added that the villagers constantly remind each other to firmly maintain security and order and refuse to listen to the instigations of bad elements.

The peace in Huổi Khon today serves as the most persuasive evidence, completely smashing the distorted arguments of hostile forces that exploit ethnic and religious issues for sabotage purposes. In a small garden by the porch, the children of Lý A Nhà in Huổi Khon 2 village take advantage of the time to water lush green mustard greens, their laughter blending with the sound of splashing water. In a small kitchen filled with the warm scent of smoke, Lý A Nhà and his wife busily prepare the evening meal. Outside, the concrete inter-village road echoes with the lively footsteps and playful voices of children just finishing school. The small home of Lý A Nhà is one of many vivid strokes in the peaceful and prosperous picture of Huổi Khon today.

Leaving Huổi Khon as the borderland shimmered under the national power grid, visitors can easily understand that the most solid citadel along this frontier stretch is the “people’s heart posture.” Overcoming a historical turning point, the people of Huổi Khon today proudly and confidently assert their role as the core subjects in the cause of constantly renewing and developing their homeland.

The reality in Huổi Khon has affirmed an immutable truth: when the Party’s will merges with the people’s heart, that posture becomes an absolute, impregnable fortress. No hostile force and no distorted argument can shake or divide the national great solidarity bloc. Under the guiding light of the Party’s ideals and the ironclad faith of the people, Huổi Khon is firmly advancing on its journey to rise, firmly safeguarding border security sovereignty while constructing an increasingly prosperous and happy life.
