Following Uncle Hồ’s teachings through practical actions

ĐBP - Engraving Uncle Hồ’s teachings in their hearts, the grassroots police force across the province has concretized the studying and following of Hồ Chí Minh’s ideology, morality, and style through practical, citizen-centric actions.

From staying close to the villages and going out into the fields to support residents during harvest seasons to proactively practicing self-study and self-training to improve professional qualifications and expertise, the image of public security officers has left an increasingly beautiful impression in the hearts of the people.

Under the scorching sun on the fields of Ten A village, Mường Thanh ward, officers and soldiers of the ward police, along with local residents, urgently harvested ripe rice to promptly support the family of Quàng Văn Thuận before impending thunderstorms could damage the crop yield. Quàng Văn Thuận’s family is in difficult circumstances; their rice fields had reached harvest time, but the household was short-handed and lacked labor. Immediately after grasping the situation, the Mường Thanh ward Police mobilized officers and soldiers to coordinate with the ward’s Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, heading straight to the fields to reap the rice and save the family’s harvest from erratic weather.

The image of police officers wading through muddy fields and carrying bundles of rice alongside the villagers demonstrates the sense of responsibility, sharing, and citizen-centric attitude of the grassroots police force. Quàng Văn Thuận emotionally shared that his family was lonely, and seeing the ripe rice fields during a period of highly unpredictable weather made him extremely anxious, so he was immensely grateful to the ward police officers and mass organization cadres who came to help reap and carry the rice.

Officers and soldiers of the Mường Thanh ward Police, alongside local residents, promptly support the family of Quàng Văn Thuận in Ten A village to harvest rice.

Beyond this specific household, the Mường Thanh ward Police have regularly organized grassroots-oriented activities, contributing labor days to assist poor households and policy-beneficiary families, participating in environmental sanitation, and helping residents overcome the consequences of natural disasters. These practical deeds have significantly contributed to consolidating trust and the close bond between the police force and the public.

Senior Lieutenant Nguyễn Bá Thập, Head of the Mường Thanh ward Police, stated: “The Command of the ward Police always reminds officers and soldiers to stick closely to the grassroots, stay near the people, and understand them to promptly grasp their thoughts and aspirations. Supporting disadvantaged families is also a regular activity aimed at promoting a sense of responsibility and building the image of police officers serving the people.”

Alongside social security activities, the grassroots police force across the province focuses on building a learning and training environment to improve professional qualifications and expertise for officers and youth union members. Many units have effectively implemented the “Youth Bookcase” model and the “Bookshelf for Studying and Following Hồ Chí Minh’s Ideology, Morality, and Style” so that officers and soldiers can proactively research and update their knowledge to serve their duties.

At the Sáng Nhè commune Police, the “Youth Bookcase” model was deployed based on the practical needs of the unit’s youth union members. Given the specific characteristics of a vast territory with many villages far from the center and a heavy workload, self-study and self-research are identified as crucial factors helping officers and soldiers enhance their skills and meet task requirements in the new situation. Currently, the unit’s bookcase contains numerous book titles across various fields, including politics, law, the traditional history of the People’s Public Security force, professional skills, digital transformation, information technology applications, and soft skills. Many materials are updated regularly, aligning closely with the practical requirements of grassroots work.

Lieutenant Mùa A Nủ, Secretary of the Youth Union of the Sáng Nhè commune Police, shared that the union identifies building a reading culture as one of the solutions to help members improve their professional capacity and political bravery. In addition to maintaining the bookcase, the unit organizes book introduction sessions, knowledge sharing, and practical experience exchanges for members to learn together.

According to Lieutenant Mùa A Nủ, maintaining the habit of reading books has helped many officers and soldiers become more proactive in their work, enhancing their capacity to research documents, handle situations, and apply technology in executing tasks. This is also a way for the youth of the grassroots police force to practice the spirit of self-study and self-training to meet task demands.

Under difficult and pressured working conditions at the grassroots level, maintaining a regular learning spirit is not easy to achieve. However, many young officers and soldiers proactively arrange their time to research documents, learn from colleagues’ experiences, and update new knowledge to serve their work. This proactivity is contributing to improving the operational quality of the grassroots police force, meeting the requirements of ensuring security and order in the new situation.

From simple tasks on the fields during harvest season to maintaining the habit of self-study and self-training every day, the study and emulation of Hồ Chí Minh’s ideology, morality, and style within the grassroots police force in Điện Biên is being concretized through practical actions. This dedication, responsibility, and closeness to the people have contributed to building the image of brave, humane, and public-serving People’s Public Security officers.
