Điện Biên’s Party Chief Trần Tiến Dũng works in Mường Thanh ward

ĐBP - On March 28, Trần Tiến Dũng, a Member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Điện Biên provincial Party Committee, led a provincial working delegation to a meeting with the Party Committee of Mường Thanh ward.

The session was held to evaluate the implementation of political tasks, socio-economic development, and national defense and security from July 1 to December 31, 2025, as well as the first quarter of 2026, while establishing key tasks and solutions for the upcoming period.

Attending the meeting were Lê Thành Đô, Standing Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Council, and Mùa A Vảng, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, and Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, alongside members of the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee and leaders of various provincial departments and sectors.

During the session, the Mường Thanh ward Party Committee reported that in 2025, they focused on comprehensive leadership to achieve positive results, with all 11 major indicators meeting or exceeding targets. Average per capita income was estimated at VND 75 million per year, and the economic structure shifted toward increasing the proportion of trade, services, tourism, and industry. Poverty reduction and social security policies were effectively implemented, while political security and social order were maintained.

Throughout the first quarter of 2026, the ward Party Committee prioritized strengthening the capacity and combativeness of grassroots party organizations, implementing anti-corruption measures, and strictly carrying out Resolution No.03-NQ/ĐU regarding socio-economic development goals for 2026.

Consequently, agricultural and aquatic areas remained stable, and budget revenue reached 32.2% of the provincial estimate. The ward also successfully organized the election of deputies to the National Assembly and People’s Councils for the 2026-2031 term.

Looking toward the future, the Mường Thanh ward Party Committee has identified nine key tasks to implement resolutions from the 2025-2030 term. They petitioned the province to approve the joint master plan for Điện Biên Phủ and Mường Thanh to serve as a foundation for attracting investment and to include industrial zone projects in the medium-term public investment plan for 2026-2031.

Furthermore, they requested prioritized funding for traffic, environmental, and urban development projects, alongside the decentralization of public investment capital to communes and wards to increase local autonomy. Provincial delegation members responded to these proposals by suggesting the ward maximize land potential, shift toward high-value crops, and develop high-tech agriculture and OCOP products to achieve double-digit growth. They also emphasized the importance of public outreach in land clearance and the development of new Party members.

Concluding the meeting, Trần Tiến Dũng praised the efforts of the Mường Thanh ward Party Committee and urged them to quickly implement central and provincial resolutions into daily life. He stressed that leadership must shift from a simple management mindset to a development-enabling mindset that creates jobs and improves sustainable living standards.

The Secretary directed the ward to strengthen unity, mobilize resources from citizens and businesses, and strictly combat corruption and waste in managing public assets. He called for the completion of Mường Thanh’s urban planning by May to attract investment and encouraged the mobilization of the entire political system for land clearance in both public and private projects. Finally, he requested provincial departments to send officials to the grassroots level to assist the ward in resolving difficulties and obstacles.
