Điện Biên Party Committee celebrates 75 years of service

ĐBP – On October 9, the Điện Biên Province Party Committee held a meeting to commemorate the 75th anniversary of its establishment, marking the period from October 10, 1949, to October 10, 2024.

Participants included Trần Quốc Cường, Member of the Central Party Committee and Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Mùa A Sơn, Standing Deputy Secretary; and Lê Thành Đô, Deputy Secretary and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee. Also in attendance were members and former members of the provincial Standing Committee, as well as leaders from the Provincial People's Council and Committee.

In his opening remarks, Secretary Trần Quốc Cường highlighted that over the past 75 years and through 14 congresses, the provincial Party Committee has grown stronger in political, ideological, and organisational capacities. Currently, it comprises 14 affiliated party organisations, 616 grassroots organisations, and 48,662 party members.

Drawing on the heroic legacy of Điện Biên Phủ, the provincial Party Committee and authorities have focused on mobilising collective strength across all levels and sectors, reinforcing the core role of organisations within the political system to achieve significant progress across various fields.

The committee has strengthened its leadership by effectively implementing Party policies and state laws, translating these directives into relevant programmes and plans tailored to local conditions, which has led to substantial outcomes.

Building on the spirit of national unity and the achievements of the past 75 years, Điện Biên province continues to fortify its leadership. This includes ensuring a comprehensive understanding and application of the Party’s guidelines and policies, as well as state laws, while creatively adapting these into practical programmes and plans that align with the province’s specific political objectives.

The province is also committed to fostering strong national unity and promoting solidarity within the Party and among workers, farmers, intellectuals, military personnel, and international partners. It aims to strengthen the bond between the Party and the people, enhancing leadership in economic development while ensuring social welfare and improving the material and spiritual well-being of its citizens.
The ultimate goal remains to achieve the objectives outlined in the resolution of the 14th Provincial Party Congress, contributing to the successful implementation of the 13th Party Congress resolution at the national level.

During the meeting, participants reflected on the 75-year history of the Điện Biên Provincial Party Committee, highlighting its leadership role throughout various revolutionary periods. Discussions also evaluated proactive and innovative approaches to adapting Party policies to local conditions.

Attendees proposed solutions to maintain the integrity and strength of the Party Committee, enhance Party development efforts among ethnic minority communities, and modernise the cadre team to meet new challenges. The vital role of youth in Party building was emphasised, recognising their positive contributions to the province’s development.
