Điện Biên leaders pay tribute to heroic martyrs

ĐBP - On August 28, the Điện Biên provincial Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee, and Việt Nam Fatherland Front Committee of the province held an incense offering ceremony to pay tribute to heroic martyrs on the occasion of the 81st anniversary of National Day of the Socialist Republic of Việt Nam (September 2, 1945 - 2026).

Attending the ceremony were Trần Tiến Dũng, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, and Head of the provincial National Assembly Deputy Delegation; members of the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee; the Standing Board of the provincial People’s Council; leaders of the provincial People’s Committee and the provincial Việt Nam Fatherland Front Committee; members of the Executive Board of the provincial Party Committee; leaders of provincial departments, boards, and sectors; along with veterans and youth union members across the province.

In a solemn atmosphere, the delegation offered incense and laid wreaths at the Memorial House of President Hồ Chí Minh and the Martyrs Shrine at the Điện Biên Phủ Battlefield. Before the spirits of President Hồ Chí Minh and the heroic martyrs, the delegates reverently commemorated and expressed profound gratitude for their immense contributions and sacrifices for national independence and freedom. They pledged to continue studying and following Hồ Chí Minh’s thought, morality, and style, upholding revolutionary traditions, and building an increasingly prosperous Điện Biên.

Offering incense and flowers at the A1 National Martyrs’ Cemetery, the delegation expressed deep reverence and boundless gratitude to the heroic martyrs who fought valiantly and laid down their lives in the Điện Biên Phủ Campaign, contributing to the victory that “resounded across five continents and shook the globe.” The delegates pledged to unite in overcoming difficulties, carry forward the nation’s glorious traditions, and build Điện Biên into a wealthy, strong, and sustainable province worthy of the sacrifices made by earlier generations for the revolutionary cause of the Party and the Vietnamese nation.

The floral and incense offering ceremony is an occasion for the Party organization, local authorities, and people of Điện Biên province to express deep gratitude toward President Hồ Chí Minh, General Võ Nguyên Giáp, and heroic martyrs who dedicated and sacrificed their lives for national liberation, construction, and defense of the Fatherland. It also serves to inspire patriotic traditions and the national philosophy of “When drinking water, remember its source” and “Repaying gratitude.”
