Điện Biên, Jiangcheng District’s leaders discuss on strengthening cooperation

ĐBP - Leaders of Điện Biên Province on Wednesday met with a delegation from the Jiangcheng District Party Committee, Pu’er City, Yunnan Province of China.

The Chinese delegation was led by Secretary of the Jiangcheng District’s Party Committee Hu Xinghua. The Điện Biên provincial leaders included Trần Quốc Cường, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Giàng Thị Hoa, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council; and Lò Văn Tiến, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

Cường expressed his pleasure at welcoming the delegation and gave an overview of Điện Biên Province, its potential, and its strengths. He emphasised the positive results in cooperation between Điện Biên and Yunnan provinces in recent years across various fields.

To further enhance the friendly and cooperative relations, he proposed that Jiangcheng District actively coordinate with Yunnan authorities to complete legal procedures and seek approval for opening the Long Phú - A Pa Chải border gate, as well as investing in infrastructure at the Long Phú border gate area to meet bilateral standards.

Expressing his desire to deepen the friendly cooperation between the two provinces, Cường was confident that, in the future, Jiangcheng District, Pu’er City, and the localities in Điện Biên province would carry out practical, effective activities to strengthen the comprehensive friendship.

The Jiangcheng District delegation expressed gratitude for the warm reception by the Secretary of Điện Biên Provincial Party Committee and other provincial departments. On behalf of the delegation, Secretary Hu Xinghua congratulated Điện Biên on its achievements across various fields and emphasised the valued cooperation between Điện Biên and Yunnan provinces, including Jiangcheng District.

During this visit, Hu expressed his belief that the two Parties and the two States, Việt Nam and China, will continue to maintain their long-standing friendship.

On this basis, he hoped that Điện Biên and Yunnan would collaborate and share experiences in various economic, cultural, and social sectors, and jointly work towards building a stable, peaceful, and developing border.
