Điện Biên holds memorial and burial ceremony for martyrs’ remains at Độc Lập Martyrs’ Cemetery

ĐBP - On July 30, the Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Điện Biên province organized a visitation, memorial, and burial ceremony for the remains of two martyrs at the Độc Lập Martyrs’ Cemetery in Thanh Nưa commune.

Attending the visitation and memorial ceremony were Cao Thị Tuyết Lan, Member of the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee and Permanent Vice Chairwoman of the provincial People’s Council; Nguyễn Văn Đoạt, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee and Head of the provincial Steering Committee for Searching, Gathering, and Identifying Martyrs’ Information; Senior Colonel Nguyễn Văn Chính, Head of the Policy Division under the Military Region 2 Command and standing agency of Military Region 2’s Steering Committee for Searching, Gathering, and Identifying Martyrs’ Information; alongside leaders of provincial boards, departments, sectors, cadres, soldiers, and local residents.

Amidst a solemn and respectful atmosphere, delegates, officers, soldiers, and citizens conducted the visitation and memorial service, observing a minute of silence and offering incense to honor the immense contributions of the martyrs who fought courageously and sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.

Following the memorial service, delegates performed the burial ceremony for the remains of the two martyrs. These were two martyrs’ remains exhumed and gathered by the provincial Steering Committee for Searching, Gathering, and Identifying Martyrs’ Information in the Pha Đin Pass peak area within Bản Lồng, Quài Tở commune.

The visitation, memorial, and burial ceremony demonstrates the national traditions of “When drinking water, remember its source” and “Gratitude,” serving as a deep expression of appreciation from the Party Committee, authorities, armed forces, and ethnic communities in the province toward heroic martyrs who dedicated their lives to national liberation and defense.

Delegates observe a minute of silence to remember and honor the contributions of martyrs.

Concurrently, this meaningful activity educates on patriotic and revolutionary traditions, fostering national pride and responsibility among today’s generations in building and protecting the Fatherland.
