Điện Biên delegation pays tribute to Xaysomphone Phomvihane

ĐBP - On August 10, a delegation from Điện Biên province led by Trần Tiến Dũng, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, and Head of the provincial National Assembly Deputy Delegation, visited the Lao Embassy in Hà Nội to pay tribute and write the condolence book in memory of Xaysomphone Phomvihane, President of the National Assembly of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic.

At the tribute ceremony, Trần Tiến Dũng alongside delegates laid a wreath, observed a moment of silence, and signed the condolence book expressing boundless grief over the passing of former National Assembly President Xaysomphone Phomvihane, while extending condolences to the Party, State, National Assembly, and people of Laos alongside his family.

Xaysomphone Phomvihane was a senior leader of the Lao Party and State who made numerous important contributions to the cause of building, safeguarding, and developing Laos, while contributing to nurturing the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Viet Nam and Laos.

Trần Tiến Dũng and the Điện Biên delegation extend condolences to the Party, State, National Assembly, and people of Laos alongside Xaysomphone Phomvihane’s family.

Toward Điện Biên province, relations of friendship, solidarity, and cooperation with Lao localities - especially northern Lao provinces - have consistently received attention, consolidation, and development, as both sides regularly exchange delegations and enhance cooperation across multiple sectors, contributing to building a peaceful, friendly, cooperative, and developing Viet Nam - Laos border line.
