Every inch of soil at the Quảng Trị Ancient Citadel is steeped in the blood and bones of soldiers who created an immortal epic in the defense battle of the Fatherland in 1972, becoming a shining symbol of revolutionary heroism and the Vietnamese nation’s aspiration for peace.

Next, the delegation offered flowers and incense at the Flower Releasing Pier on the southern bank of the Thạch Hãn River. The Thạch Hãn River has gone down in history as a witness to the fierce war years, where countless cadres and soldiers laid down forever during their journey to cross the river to protect the Quảng Trị Ancient Citadel. Standing in this sacred space, the delegation expressed their deep reverence and gratitude for the noble sacrifices of past generations for the cause of national liberation.

During the resistance war against the US to save the country, martyr Lê Thị Tuyết actively participated in revolutionary activities, serving as a liaison officer who transported documents, weapons, and food to serve the battlefield. In 1968, while executing her mission, she heroically sacrificed her life at a very young age. Her sacrifice stands as a brilliant symbol of patriotism, an indomitable spirit, and dedication to the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.
