The investment interest from corporations and enterprises inside and outside the province shows that Điện Biên has many potentials and fields that can be exploited and developed.

For the people of Điện Biên themselves, especially the youth, it is necessary to realize the aspiration of building the homeland by using the Điện Biên Phủ spirit of the past to “awaken” local potentials and advantages.

Previously, at the Vietnam Private Economic Forum 2026 local dialogue round held in Điện Biên on May 10, young entrepreneurs in the province proposed many highly practical initiatives for economic exploitation and development, closely adhering to local characteristics. Inheriting the spirit of the Điện Biên Phủ campaign, businesses proposed a “3 fronts” strategy to create breakthroughs in the three fields of economy, technology, and the market.

Based on Điện Biên’s strong implementation of crop conversion to high economic value plants, businesses proposed implementing agricultural digital transformation through a value chain management model for coffee and macadamia on a digital platform, along with training in digital sales skills for ethnic minorities. From there, step by step, each village will be transformed into an agricultural product promotion center, creating sustainable livelihoods.

In reality, Điện Biên has much potential in historical tourism and the cultural identity of ethnic groups; renewable energy such as wind and solar power; and a climate and soil suitable for high economic value specialty crops including macadamia, coffee, and tall-tree tea. With its location at the border junction of Vietnam, Laos, and China, possessing the historical relic complex of the Điện Biên Phủ battlefield and the unique culture of 19 ethnic groups, along with the advantage of developing coffee, macadamia, and high-tech agriculture, Điện Biên has all the conditions to become a new growth pole in the Northwestern region. In the near future, as the construction of the Sơn La - Điện Biên - Tây Trang International Border Gate expressway section commences, Điện Biên will have the advantage of developing its border gate economy, connecting cross-border trade with Laos and Yunnan province (China).

Thoroughly grasping and deeply implementing the directive viewpoint of “promoting the spirit of Điện Biên Phủ of the past ignited in peacetime as a mandate for development,” Điện Biên deploys a “green channel” mechanism, creating favorable conditions to attract investment into strong fields. The province determines to develop tourism into a spearhead economic sector with three strengths: historical, cultural, and resort tourism.

The province shortens the time for resolving administrative procedures by at least 70% for priority projects, clearly demonstrating an innovative mindset and drastically improving the business and investment environment, removing bottlenecks, and consolidating investors’ trust. When Party committees and authorities are determined to synchronously implement investment attraction solutions, they need more support and consensus from the people so that Điện Biên’s potentials and strengths can become the driving force for socio-economic development. In this regard, the pioneering, leading, and creative spirit of youths needs to be awakened through specific actions to contribute to local socio-economic development.

Youths of Điện Biên today are ready to take on new and difficult tasks for the community, associated with the mission of socio-economic development. The works and tasks that the provincial youth union members have been and are implementing prioritize directing towards difficult areas, remote regions, and border areas. The projects and fields that the province calls for and attracts investment are the driving force and environment for youths of Điện Biên to show their enthusiastic spirit and responsibility, transforming potential into a growth engine. Youths participate in startups and career building by exploiting the potentials and strengths of the province, promoting and introducing them to investors, and mobilizing resources to contribute to building the homeland.

For Điện Biên to become a dynamic growth pole in the northern mountainous region, it is necessary to awaken the aspiration to dedicate and build the homeland through attracting investment to exploit the potentials and strengths of the province.
