Affirming role of women in new era

ĐBP - Learning and following Hồ Chí Minh’s ideology, morality, and style has been materialized by Women’s Union levels across the province through numerous practical models and activities linked to members’ lives.

From practicing thrift and supporting economic development to helping each other overcome hardships, these simple deeds create motivation for many women to rise up and stabilize their lives.

Regularly on the 5th of every month, the Cultural House of Tông Khao village, Thanh Nưa commune bursts with laughter from women’s union members attending meetings and participating in the Self-Managed Savings Group. Maintained for nearly 20 years, the model has become a fulcrum helping many members access capital for economic development. From small initial savings, the group’s fund has now reached over VND 600 million, managed publicly and transparently to provide rotating loans to members. Monthly, the branch facilitates loans ranging from VND 2 to 50 million per person for 3 to 5 members, depending on their needs and capital utilization capacity.

Lò Thị Liên, Head of the Tông Khao village Women’s Branch, shared that in learning and following Uncle Hồ, the branch regularly encourages members to practice thrift and efficiently utilize loan capital for family economic development. Members also actively support one another with workdays and share experience in cultivation and livestock breeding, enabling many members to step-by-step stabilize their lives and escape poverty.

Not only in Thanh Nưa commune, the spirit of practicing thrift following Uncle Hồ’s example spreads across many union branches in the province. At the Phiêng Lơi Village Women’s Branch, Điện Biên Phủ ward, the savings model has been maintained for over 10 years with contribution levels ranging from VND 100.000 to 500.000 per member. On average each month, the savings fund mobilizes over VND 10 million to provide interest-free loans to members facing difficult circumstances, creating additional resources for production development and life stabilization. Lò Thị Kim from the Phiêng Lơi village Women’s Branch noted that positive consensus and response from members serve as key factors helping the model operate effectively. From the savings fund, many women gain conditions to invest in livestock, cultivation, and production expansion, step-by-step elevating income and improving daily life.

Hand in hand with maintaining and replicating savings models, Women’s Union levels continue deploying the emulation movement “Building New-Era Vietnamese Women” linked with studying and following Hồ Chí Minh’s ideology, morality, and style. Communication efforts are intensified, elevating awareness and awakening emulation spirits among cadres and members. Through movements, women actively cultivate the criteria of being knowledgeable, moral, healthy, and responsible toward themselves, families, society, and the country, while promoting the qualities of confidence, self-respect, loyalty, and resourcefulness, actively participating in cultural, artistic, sports, and folk dance activities to enrich spiritual life and build the image of new-era women.

In the first six months of 2026, union levels deployed 548 works and tasks, commended 133 advanced role models including 36 collectives and 97 individuals, and rewarded 10 individuals with outstanding achievements in performing duties and emulation movements. The union manages savings and credit groups efficiently, coordinating with the Bank for Social Policies to disburse preferential credit sources for members’ economic development. By April 2026, total outstanding loans managed by the union reached VND 1,400 billion, enabling 18,043 members to access preferential loan capital. From this capital source, many members boldly invest in family economic development.

Across an area exceeding 1 hectare, Bùi Thị Gấm’s family, a member of the Pá Cấu Village Women’s Branch in Mường Thanh ward, grows fruit trees such as guava, pomelo, sapodilla, and lychee, combined with nearly 1,000 square meters of fish ponds. Thanks to hard work in learning experience and proactively converting production methods, her family’s economic model brings in a stable net income exceeding VND 150 million annually after costs.

According to Pờ Diệu Ninh, Chairwoman of the provincial Women’s Union, implementing Politburo Directive No.05 has been materialized by union levels through models suited to practical local conditions. Điện Biên women are step-by-step affirming their role in family economic development and new rural construction. Simple yet practical deeds contribute to transforming learning and following Uncle Hồ into regular actions among cadres and members, spreading fine values across the community. The union will continue replicating effective models and fostering solidarity and mutual support so that learning and following Uncle Hồ increasingly deepens and becomes a regular practice for every cadre and member.
