ĐBP - On February 11, at the Điện Biên Provincial Center for Continuing Education, the provincial Department of Education and Training held the opening ceremony for a training course for students from Phongsaly, Udomxay, and Luang Prabang provinces of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic for the 2024-2025 academic year.

The event was attended by Mr. Phạm Đức Toàn, Member of the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee and Standing Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, along with representatives from various provincial departments and a delegation from the three Northern Lao provinces.

From February 10 to March 21, about 28 Lao trainees will receive specialized training on the application of information technology (IT) in teaching and the use of instructional equipment for subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. Additionally, they will visit historical and cultural sites and gain practical experience at various educational institutions in Điện Biên.

For the Vietnamese language course in the 2024-2025 academic year, 16 Lao students will undergo six months of intensive Vietnamese language training.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Phạm Đức Toàn emphasized that for more than 20 years, the training of human resources under the cooperation program between Điện Biên Province and the Northern Lao provinces has been a key political mission of the Vietnamese province.

To ensure the best possible outcomes for the training and education program, he urged relevant departments and agencies in Điện Biên Province to make every effort to provide adequate accommodations, meals, and study conditions for the Lao students, as well as to ensure the quality of teaching, training sessions, and practical field experiences.

Welcoming the delegation of officials and students from the Northern Lao provinces, he expressed his hope that the students would gain essential knowledge and skills in the Vietnamese language, enabling them to communicate effectively in academic and professional settings. This, he noted, would enhance international cooperation efforts in various sectors.

Through this program, Lao educators and officials will receive training on applying information technology in secondary education and utilizing instructional equipment. The program also includes educational activities at institutions across the province, aiming to improve professional competencies and practical application of IT in teaching for education and sports personnel from Northern Lao provinces.
